hey I hear ya man. I am not a fan of AR's and imo they are the real elephant in the room. The AR is supposed to be, or so I thought, a good weapon for any situation. It is not supposed to be THE weapon for any situation.
AR's need to be softened up a bit. Need proof? I won't bore you with numbers. Just look at how many AI classes use AR's. It is a huge majority. You can pretty much base what works really well on the numbers of players who are using em. (See tanks/thukkar nades). Just like the SL's when lots of people used em, same as RE's.
Look at how few people use Mass Drivers or Forge Guns on the current build, cause they aren't the easiest things to kill with. People will naturally move towards weapons that kill easier for the simple fact that they kill easier.
However, this tends to be a double threat as the majority is also the most heard, and who would want to weaken themselves right? So no one mentions AR's being a bit too powerful and/or accurate (depending on the type).
In my opinion, certain AR's, SMG's, and the Militia shotty could prolly use a little tweaking towards the (pause for dreaded word effect) Nerf region.
I am certain that tweaks will progress well into release and then some. I am a bit surprised however that with all the Nerf talk on these forums that no one mentions AR's.....
However they continue to be the most used period. Imho, AR's need to be a bit less accurate and certain ones less dmg, Snipers are good, Militia shotty dmg needs toned down a bit, certain SMG's dmg needs toned down, HMG's are pretty good, Mass Drivers need more consistency with their rounds, SL's missles need to aim at the top of objects, Forge Guns need some of their range back, thukkar nades need something done with em like only releasing a shield dmging variant and tanks need to be a bit slower.
All the above are just opinions, so save your a$$hat comments, but real suggestions are great. I will be the first to admit I don't use all weapons, but have tried most of them, (have not tried Mass Drivers, Forge Guns, or HMG's). I currently use shotguns, usually the militia. |
