So today I have decided to start using swarm launchers. I have figured out how to lock on. Took most of a gunloggis shields out and then got sniped(lol what goes around). It took me 5 swarms of the scattermind I think it is called which is a aur item. The problem is the gunloggi guy I did that 2 was someone I hadn't seen before and just by his actions I know he isn't one of the big tankers. When I tried it on progressive who I know is skilled from last build,he turned and shot at me causing me to crap in my pants and not see what damage it did.
I have been saving for a the proto suit so have enough to get my swarms to proto and then sum. Just wondering if I will be wasting my time or I can go ahead and give it a try.
One more question, due to the heavy not having space for nano hives I am using my glass cannon suit which I know isn't smart. Would you please be able to point me in the right direction of suit to use.
Please don't tell me to get a tank. I still have 4 suryas from when I was screwing around with tanks. I suck with them and would prefer not to have to use them. When I stick to my usual play style tanks are not a problem for me so I won't come back here and complain if I get owned over and over today. I will just give up on my experiment and return to my chicken style.

People's mistake with Swarms is that they don't realise it's actually a light weapon and not heavy. CCP compounded this error by dishing out that shite Heavy - Shock loadout.
Upon seeing this any old noob instantly thinks that loadout should kill tanks, the fact is it doesn't and it's a terrible fit to use.
The heavy suit has major downsides for AV. It's mobility is terrible. It has no equipment slots. It's a massive target.
Now I'm a tank driver primarily, but the fact I'm even having to post this speaks volumes about the "AV being crap and tanks being OP" argument tbh. |

Lol luckily enough I have been here long enough to see what happens to the poor souls that spawn with that heavy shock. Haha funniest is when they watch me skipping up to them in my scout suit. I bet they are laughing thinking look at this noob coming to me then floor.
I promise I do not want to add to this tank is overpowered topic. You will not see me on this forum complaining about things being op. That is one promise I can give you. |

I stopped using the heavy dropsuit for anything other than a Heavy Machine Gun or a Forge Gun. I decided to fit Swarm Launchers onto a scout suit for four reasons:
1. Low CPU/PG requirements 2. Mobility 3. Equipment Slot for the Nano Hive 4. Low Signature Profile |

During your exp try driving an LAV right up the tanks sphincter hop out and just blind fire that swarm into the douchebag then uload all the av nades you got. This will work against the poormans tank and somtimes the poorly fit rich mans tank but it wont ever work against the big tankers
For that you take 2 x lav with 6 x angry av tank haters. You need 6 cos plenty will die doing this fine work.
Meh tbh man spend the SP on somthign fun this builds screwy |

What most Swarm Launcher users also don't know: After you have acheived the lockon, you can pop out of sight from the tank/LAV/dropship, turn the aim so that when the missiles fire they curve around the obstacle you put between yourself and the vehicle you're aiming at. The missiles will still track the tank. It makes it easier sometimes to stay alive AND shoot the tanks. |

Thanks for the advice Sha,I see a couple people wanting to go av grouping up. Will get into a group. Won't be wasting the sp but will give it a go for the day. |

Ok so I wasn't that far off. Think I'm going to drop the repairer and add second plates. That way at least get to 500 hp and get a nano hive that reps. Tank the snipers for a shot or 2 and relocate.
Thanks for the help everyone. |

Ow and tbh man I would throw away the hvy suit for the LAV banzi move . Bunch of us been doing this a fair bit and well all 100% agree that you get more dmg out as an assult or scout because you can move faster and somtimes avoid that one shot kill. We have been toying with taking a single Breach forge hvy guy with us just to see how it works but when the tank starts panicing and runs away at full speed its only the scouts and assults that can even attemp the chase. |

Assault is the best if you aren't going to climb off into the mountains... I have a type2 Swarmer, hive and AV nade suit. It works, and can take 600 damage. |

Yip heavy is a no go. Besides the speed problem he is useless without that equipment slot. What level does the heavy get his own slot? If they had a equipment slot to start with maybe the shock wouldn't be such a waste of time.
My pg and cpu is maxed and I can't fit a secondary though. Today is your day to get even infantry.

Yes I will build an assault right away. Might get that secondary fitted and be able to run with the pack. Many thanks for the brain jolt Tony. |

Just to let you know, swarm launchers are only good against armor tanks, whereas forge guns wreck shield tanks. My breach forge gun can wipe the entire shield bar off of basic tanks (not militia, I just forget the name), and it's not even too bad against marauder tanks, and it's only the first breach forge gun. I can only assume it gets better from there. |

My experience, the best suit for using Swarmers with is the Logistics.
Fairly simple to see why:
1) Can pack Swarm Launcher and a Subgun 2) Can deploy equipment (sometimes 2 or 3) So you have Nanohives 3) Can run MUCH faster than Heavy Armor 4) Allows you to fit your Heavy Armor for Forge or Chain guns, which is what they are best at (that and getting shot by tanks )

If you are going swarm here are things to look at when picking a suit.
Logistics
Advantages you can pack a punch you got 4 high slots to play with you can put on 4 10% on the proto logi. And with AV all the extra damage you can achive makes or breaks you popping the tank.
You can also armor tank it pretty well while achieving the extra damage
Disadvantage no side arm. So you need a team to keep you alive.
So as you can see Logistics can probably hit the highest damage output on swarms and more tank on the suit but you can not defend yourself
Assault It is that in between suit you can reach decent damage and decent tank at the same time. You have some speed and also can carry a self defense weapon if a guy comes up on you. It hold that middle ground on logistics and scout.
Scout
These are low health suits but speedy. you can spin around the tank faster then he can spin his turret usually. You can also jump over the splash if you time things right. but once your get hit your insta dead. so you have the advantage of speed but disadvatage of Health. you can achieve the same damage output as a assault can with these suits also. |

Assault Type-II with an AUR proto swarm and a little damage mods seem to be my ticket to making a difference on AV. It is reasonably cheap (SP, ISK and Aur), it is fast, and does a hell of a lot of damage. I can afford to burn through a handful of those and still make a profit at the end of the round. |
