I know it is still early. No complaints for what there is to do. I don't know how simple it would be. But what I'm suggesting is this: A randomization system that say every hour will take half the player base a put an added WP reward on their head for one hour. Then, after the hour is up it randomizes the active player base again and so on. It might be cool to give team 'saves' fifteen or twenty WP. When you would help a player kill a target that's trying to score a bounty kill you gain a little extra bonus on your assist.
Now for live. I'm not sure how Eve Online players plan to control Dust players. [Probably with a lot of isk] Bounties seem as an interesting means for Dust players to gain a nice payload if some people are running high risks. I'd hope for some sort of way to track your target. The thing here though is motive. What would be the benefit of going after a certain target? Why would an Eve or Dust player want another one to die? Well no one can die right? Death is Obsolete. So to make this work we would have to have a way in which once a bounty has been placed on someones head for whatever reason, their death would have to be significant outside of the battleground. Effecting a player in the war as a whole. Perhaps a bounty debuff. Or something that takes away from you a direct effect on taking strategic points. Where you could only tag team hacks.
There are a lot of things from what I understand, to get excited about with Dust 514. This seems like away in which we could have deeper and a more social connection to the people we're playing with. That's what an MMO is. Gaining a friendship in Dust because a couple dudes in local chat said they'd protect ya while you had a bounty on your head. Just so they'd have someone to help them out next time it happened to them.
I'd also love to see Trick Bounties. You get assigned a task to jump an LAV 20m. Or jump a vehicle and land it on a player. Get a killing head shot from really far away! [I'm no sniper]. Something NPC based, repeatable after some time, and just a good way to earn some extra isk, and SP. Anyway just some ideas, anything else people have on the subject I'd like to hear it. :] |

I would like to see some sort of bounty system but not sure of an effective way to do it maybe when corps go live you could put a bounty on a corp and you get paid a bonus per a kill of that corp, this may make better mercs go after certain people if you know you will get a 50k isk bonus per kill on that guy

Can't think how that would work right... bounty on who for what??? I mean your a merc in a pvp FPS, your squad hired to take on a job... Its not like your a pirate and the other guy is a freighter and is tired of getting ganked by this guy, so you put a bounty on his head to make his life a little more interesting....

My understanding is that there is going to be a progression in Dust 514. In which we are used to conquer planets in order for eve players to use them to gain resources. I've read somewhere that Dust players will have the means to act outside of Eve players. IE, being capable of taking planets for themselves. If a said Dust 514 only corp was making life less easier for an eve corp, I could see the want for someone to go after a leader, or second in command. This would -if done correctly- could either shake up the dust corps moral, or hold them back for a few rounds so the other corp might be able to get a footing on a planet that someone else controls.
Mercenaries, and Pirates walk a very similar line. If the price was right, and you know it was going to effect your rival clans leader for a couple rounds in a corp war. I could see that being a drive for people to accept, and carry out bounties. |
