This is a simple little topic to talk about later additions the game may have, small bits and pieces to make being a merc easier and make interacting with players on EVE more appealing.
One of the main ideas swimming in my own head involves the talk about making some items unlimited. Now, before I get flamed let me be clear, this idea isn't to make an item unlimited. It's for corporations that have squads they "prefer" to take on their contracts for. It's something that can be offered in the missions given, like an added bonus to entice squads to go with it.
The idea is this, when a Corp offers up a contract for teams to take on, or perhaps just a squad for any covert ops style missions. Said Corp can offer to pay for the used fittings (maybe both drop suit and vehicle) that are destroyed during an engagement. This might also be something they offer only to the top squad at the end of the match. It would make taking on Corp matches even more worthwhile and it will push mercs to do even better, working even more with their squad to win that bonus.
If others have any more ideas, shoot and fire them on and talk them out. |

A Spectator feature would do well. This would allow an EVE player to check out how well the hired Dust Bunnies do or if they just throw the game. |

increase game options with different maps and duties.. just not limit game to planet holdings, add station assualts and captial ship boarding operations.. just to name a few.... with corp contracts to remove other corp holdings.. IE.. contract for a merc unit to board a factory station and hold it till it changes to the corp.. who hired you or other missions.. steal blueprints and other usefull obects using merc's and hackers to break into secure holding area's.. steal high value equipment, or just cause damage to reduce station production ablities, even capture ceo's and managers for ransom missions.
As for capital ship boarding mission / maps same as ground missions from simple capture and secure spots on ship, to hit and run raids, to help elimate and or slow down ship support on planetary mission support.

These are awesome ideas. They need easy interaction though. One thing I personally dislike as an MMO player is having multiple tasks that I have to either be told to due in a certain way by someone who has done it before, or remember to have it active. Call it lazy, but I feel a lot of people are tired of having to remember to attain and keep a log of what to do. If you hack into a certain area like you're saying then it should just reward me for that if there is a reward for it.
I hope that this game does what it needs to in order to be successful. Which in my opinion is adhere to the player base and already driven community. Give it time and I could see all sorts of detailed game play mechanics. I would personally love the satisfaction of taking things from Eve Online players.
You talk about interaction between the two, and that is a ten year running MMO. A massive economy. I'm sure there is already a common census among Eve players about Dust Players. And it's probably not very flattering. The truth is, there will be some of us who will shine and be loyal mercs who get rewarded. There will also be those looking to rebel and conquer. I hope we get to see a true respect between the two communities when it starts to get serious. |

You're quite right Vint about what EVE players will think of us mercs. But it will be up to us to change their thoughts to the better. In the meantime, something you said brought something to mind.
In EVE there are Pirate Corps that steal and destroy others, what if there are pirate mercs as well? Like you said, they rebel and conquer, they could also add another level of depth to this game series if you allow pirate merc attacks. They could even represent the PvE gameplay of this game. Or they could be mercs that band together just to fight and kill. Like some players that just like being douches and go around killing things during take and hold missions(I don't like them that much.). The Pirates could also be a randomized event during matches to add chaos to the mix, like PvEs that come in to try and sabotage the turrets to take out a ship or they're trying to kill a lot of players. It would give the opposing sides a kind of reason to work together for a short time till the pirates are dealt with. |

Now, this is a good idea, but how about it working the other way around... Hear me out.
As a Duster and Consoleer, it'd be awesome to get an idea of the Capsuleers who I may or may not work for... What better way than...
EvE space tours!!!
Yes, shove me in your cargo hold, fly me to a Warzone and get exploded all over 0.0 space. But let me see, let me watch what's going on. Let me see the 9000 Goons flying towards your system. Let me watch from your shields and throw funny jibes at each other.
And give the EvE player an incentive. 1% weapon cool down per clone, or fit our dropsuits into the ship, providing 1cpu/pg each. I think the immersion of being part of EvE would be increased greatly.
Oh, and it might be possible to fill a hulk with clones.. and show everyone Jita. |

There is my raining debris idea that you can check my posts for for one.
I think it would also be cool if players on EVE could deploy drones from orbit to provide some air support either shooting down enemy aircraft or bombing enemy positions at the behest of someone on the battlefield marking targets (otherwise leaving drones to engage freely at will), this would be cool if both teams had drones on their side making for some awesome aerial battle spectacle going on above.
Maybe a ship could be outfitted with a clone regeneration module in EVE that would increase the clone reserves of the friendly team on the ground as well. There are plenty of ways of cool interaction between Dust and EVE. |

I think that would be neat, it could serve as defense contracting for countering enemy boarding operations.
