As of now tanks are very hard to disable, as the only way to stop them is to completely destroy them. How about, as an alternative to making them go boom much more easily, make it possible to disable parts of the tank until repaired.
For example, you throw down a AV grenade in front of a tank, which it drives over. The grenade explodes, taking out the shields near trackss, which are quickly regenerated from surrounding shields and taken off of total shield; however, before the shields recharged, the grendade destroyed one of the tracks, meaning that the tank can not move that track until someone repairs it. A similar thing could be applied to the turrets, allowing you to take out tank firing abilities without actually killing it.
This would give the ability to AV fits to still save their teammates, and eventually take out a tank that is not supported by some logistics infantry or vehicles, but still allows the tank owner to be able to get their money out of it if they drive carefully. |

Yeah...what if, better yet, the whole point of AV infantry is just to disable tanks? They can't bring nearly enough fire-power to destroy it, but can disable turrets or treads for friendly tanks to finish off |

Grenades shouldn't even be stopped by the shields I dont think. I mean I don't know how the shields in the eve universe work but if I had to guess they would stop all incoming high velocity projectiles. I mean if it stopped everything coming at the tank enemy and friendlies alike wouldn't be able to pass through the shields to enter/hack the tank. So I would think that a thrown grenade would pass right through the shields and go boom next to the armor, yes? |
