Do the stamina/biotics related skills bestow their passive bonuses on you if you aren't using the related module? Worth putting any points into even if I'm not planning on using any biotics other than Mobility?
Random side note: whoever the logi was that revived me two seconds from the match ending a few minutes ago, you deserve hundreds of war points; that just saved me some prototype gear monies. |

Yes, they give you a bonus "no matter what". It's only the speed skill that doesn't give any passive bonus. |

if they say they add a 5% bonus to something like stamina recharge than that is without the module |

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure if armor rep was the only skill that required a module for its bonus or not. (I suppose you've got stamina and stam regen without modules, so it makes sense.)
Thanks. |

BTW, they're adding more bonuses to skills in the next update. In EVE, virtually all skills have bonuses besides just unlocking stuff, so hopefully DUST will be the same. If the skill itself doesn't give a bonus, then gear that requires it usually has a bonus that depends on the skill. For example a Gallente Frigate that gets a 5% damage boost with hybrid turrets for each level of Gallente Frigate skill you have. |

I'd also like to clarify that bonuses gained from skills are never subject to stacking penalties. That is, boosting your Stamina with a skill does not reduce, and is not reduced, by a module boosting stamina. In that regard skills are superior to modules since they're always on and always working to their full listed value. |

They improve your armor or shield or give you more CPU or powergrid or make things take less CPU/PG.
It's best to get these out of the way first before racing to high-end prototype gear, because these skills will make you perform better no matter what you're wearing or driving, from militia to prototype. |
