Yes I just got into the beta and have been in 3 battles. I have yet to take down anything. I point blank empty a chip in so many and not a one go down. They in turn shot me once and am re spawning. What am I doing wrong or is this more you pay to win. |

you have no skills built up and basic equipment, most of the people you are playing against have been weeks in this build and have much higher skills and the ability to equip better weapons and suits. For you its a case of playing catch up, it doesnt have a lot to do with pay to win |

You should start out with an assault / sniper suit. This'll give you peace of mind and allow you to rack up some points at a distance, without all that "me shotgunning your head off" action.

I have 8 mil SP and haven't been playing with a booster. This is your trouble. There are a lot of helpful people here (good ole EvE uni). If you ask in local chat, say you're a noob looking for a squad, someone will help you out. You might have to wait 20 minutes, and keep asking, but you'll get there.
Tbh get high damage ASAP if you have low SP. weaponry skill & damage modifiers, and try to get either assault or heavy type2 suit (takes some time but it's worth it). |

Although this seems like a simple question, in the world of Dust 514/EVE/New Eden --- it is actually very complicated.
First thing you should do is read through THIS.
Second thing you should do is create custom Militia fits. You should go the the market place and buy all the Militia Gear (for drop suits, not tanks). Get all the Militia equipment, drop suit modules, some weapons etc. Next, go to your fittings menu and create some various fittings with all your militia stuff.
Third thing you should do is skill up Weaponry (1x) to level five. This will make all of the weapons you shoot 15% more useful/increase their damage. Next, decide which class of gun you are going to use, AR, SMG, HMG, Sniper, Swarm etc. and skill that up.
If you can't kill in Dust 514, you will be killed.
PS. hit start and go to options and turn your mic on and push to talk off. PSS. hit select and go to add channel and add LFSquad. PSSS. as soon as you spawn you should find a teammate and follow them around and shoot at what they shoot at. Double teaming is the fastest way to find success. |

I'm closing in on 9 mil SP but my assault rifle is still at level 1 (needless to say I rarely use it) but when I do use my milita AR, I still get kills, biggest thing is learning to adjust your play style to not being Rambo but rather like this. |

When you are just starting out you must rely on teamwork more than anyone. Power in numbers. If you're an assault kind of guy Stick close to the strong players and you will A) learn to be a better player and B) help build your SP from getting assists on their kills (or stealing their kills after they've done all the work. They won't like you, but it's an option.) Alternatively, if you're a Logi kind of guy, see who is going for objectives and stick beside him. You'll get hack assists and help him hack things faster.
It's all about recognizing the fact that everyone is stronger than you at the beginning and then being creative about finding ways to build Skill Points other than just trying to be a Rambo and dying....a lot.
As the guys said above, start with a role that keeps you from getting shot. That typically means being really fast and hard to hit or staying a good distance from the enemy. Maybe a Logistics kind of guy in a scout suit or take on a sniper role.
Also keep in mind there is a player reset coming soon in which every player will be back to square one. Learn what you can now, avoid getting hit, and take advantage of the reset when it happens. |

Everybody has more skills than you do. In a few weeks we'll be wiped and everybody will be back at square one. Try not to fall too far behind at that point. Learn as much about the game as you can in the meantime.

respawn at base or get a spawn beacon and put it in the corner of the map, shotguns are good at the start if you can get the jump on someone at close range. |

Find a group of people to squad up with consistantly, and put your SP into a certain role. Dont generalize with your skills. |
