Ok so I started putting points into tanks just this last Sat. in order to counter all the other tank wh0res out there. I'm starting to get a feel for when I can call in my gunloggi to stop enemy tanks and when its better not to because I'm just going to lose it against a sagaris or surya. I'm also paying close attention to the top tank wh0res out there.
My friend and I were playing today and before the match began he pointed out to me that one of the top tank wh0res was going to be against us. I'm not going to mention names, but this guy is in the top 10 on the leaderboards. 'Well this is going to suck' I thought, but when the match started it was one of the urban maps that tanks don't do as well on. 'Ok, we're just going to camp inside that building and deny him kills.' While I'm waiting to spawn the guy quits the game.
Coincidence? Now I know that the game freezes and glitches A LOT, but that wasn't the first time I've been relieved that a notorious tank wh0re quit a game on a small urban map. I'm convinced this guy quit because he couldn't use his tank. REALLY??? ARE YOU REALLY SCARED OF ME WITHOUT YOUR TANK? ARE YOU REALLY SO BAD YOU CAN'T PLAY WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO ONE SHOT EVERYONE????????????

either that or he got a invalid fitting or had a bug .. you never know he may have had a family emergency . now if you keep seeing it happen thats when you know :D

I've had multiple of the so called "tank wh0res" do this on urban maps. |

well then they are using the tanks as a crutch. we need a way to balance the fight. maybe tank mines ? . they would def think twice about rushing your position if its a minefield of death for anything tracked , but LAV's should be able to drive over mines |

Don't forget that dedicated tanker characters have enormous amounts of their SP in skills just to be able to sit in the tank. Then vehicle support skills and turret skills that do nothing for suits.
The cost in isk is pretty heavy as well. If you look at it as risk vs reward, the dedicated tanker has more on the line in each fight.
My pimp logi fit at the moment comes in under 150k, so I can throw a few of those into the fight without much risk.
Bailing out on a functional match seems a waste, but anyone can do that for any reason. |

I anticipate ewar mods will make tanks much more timid creatures once infantry have other options than more damage or flee. |

WRONG. As I said I just starting leveling HAVs 3 days ago, I had zero points into them before that. By tomorrow night I will be driving a sagaris with a lvl 4 large turret. It is soooooooo easy to level up vehicles. Anyone who's been doing it a while should have incredible amounts of sp for infantry fits. |

That would be true if he were vulnerable in that thing. Shoot I would whip out a 3 mil tank any day, what is going to counter it? Ok teamwork maybe, but while you gather and strategize to kill this one player with 4-8 of your players that leaves the whole other team either in more tanks or completing the objectives of the map. |
