I hate those skills levels that don't give you anything, except a step to the next level.
Seems to me you should gain something at every skill level.
I like the idea of advance at lvl4 and proto at lvl 5, but several skills give you nothing for 2 & 3 (although some skills give you new equipment at lvl2) |

yeah me too. It's all for the balance but I feel ya on that note. Hard to dedicate a large chunk of SP for no immediate gratification. Just hope the ends justify the SP |

I find it rather confusing myself but perhaps it will change.
For things like Racial Dropsuit Command, the equivalent in EVE of say Gallente Battleship, would increase a bonus tied directly to the ship. For instance, if you open the description of a Megathron it will say something like 'Increases Maximum Velocity of MWD by 5% for every level of Gallente Battleship' (I have no idea if that is the real bonus, I'm just making up an example).
So it may be that the skill will increase a bonus associated with an individual dropsuit, sort of like a ship bonus is tied directly to the ship and not the skill in EVE. |

I wrote something about this before, but no reply. I hope that only giving us lvl1,4 and 5 is just a snipet of what is to come and that they are gong to give is dropsuits etc at lvl 2 and 3.

Ill put 10mil isk down that says the skills will be more in line with eve within the next year. They are already adding passive bonuses from skills next patch if you had bothered to look. Basically this skill system is only the tip of the iceburg just wait and be thankfull they are slowley implamenting it. If you never played eve and they gave all the skills right off the bat your head wouldexplode. |

While I know things will change for the better as Dust evolves, that doesn't mean I can't hate spending SP and get nothing.
CCP did away with Learning Skills in EVE because people didn't like spending time on (seemingly) nothing. At least with Learning you actually did get something faster skilling, which is better that what I'm getting now. |
