These are both key sources of information in EVE to help players learn and understand the skill system as well as get the most out of their gear when learning a new fitting or combat style. Please add these tools into Dust so that players here may benefit from them as well.

Certificates are a tool for EVE pilots to allow them to, at a glance, identify which skills or set of skills are recommended for a ship, item or activity the certificate is associated with. They allow for easier skill planning and help pilots to keep tabs on what skill sets they already possess. Pilots may also choose to allow anyone to view their certificates on their character sheet so no one can doubt their ability and the skills they possess.
Please note: Certificates are only recommendations and serve as some useful guideline to the skills you may require to do a specific task or fly a specific ship. They do not prevent you from flying or doing a profession without having all the prerequisite certificates for it. Source: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Certificates |

The Last Shepherd wrote:another similar thing I think would help is a little 'you can now use.....' when you train a skill If I've understood your post correctly than the "Required For" readout should supply the information you're after. It is a list of all unlocks a skill allows (be those other skills, get, or whatever) and at what level the skill needs to be for that unlock to occur.
Or were you talking more of a popup upon skill increase that told you what you'd just unlocked by training that skill? |

Dewie Cheecham wrote:I'd like them to add the partial skill trained identifier (yellow O) we have on the prerequisite pages in EVE as well, and to be able to step into that tree and look at the skills, even go to the skill page/buy them from there.
That would also be a good addition, the more info (and ways to access it) we have the better IMO. It'll help new players as well, I know that my ability to understand EVE was greatly increased by having many 'angles' to access information (thus putting it into the proper context more fully).
Thanks for the response :) |

A quick bump for the eyes of the 1k new Dusters who're joining us.
Players new to the game, what do you think of the value and utility of these ideas?

Would really like to get more feedback on this, from fellow Dusters as well as (hopefully) CCP. |

Related Codex feedback.
The new player experience in Codex is far superior to that in prior builds, cheers for the improvement :)
That being said I'd still like to see these features included for Dust even if currently it's only SOON(tm), they're a valuable resource and will become all the more important to new players entering Dust post beta.

Bump for the new build.
I've heard a lot of talk about how new players need to be better able to function and compete with the more experienced vets. This idea would help greatly by allowing even those newer to the game to make more informed choices and provide context for their implications when those choices succeed or fail. |

So, considering there will be no more wipes, now would be a great time to enable the above suggestion
