Just an idea:
Attacking teams in Skirmishes could start the batle being dropped in from space, in a similar way to how you can drop from Dropships. Defending teams would need to secure the turrets first to shoot them down from the sky.
Attackers could pick Scouts or Heavies for the drop and shoot their way down, using the landing tech (whose name I don't recall - I've only used it once) to slow their descent at the last moment.
It would add another awesome objective based technicality to the battles.

Awesome - yes, something like that, but with added tactical aspects to it. The battle can begin as the attacking team are dropping in. Defenders would use anti-air turrets to gun them out of the air, the attackers would use missile launchers and snipe rifles to shoot people before they can gun them down before they are taken out.

Someone suggested using the MCC as a spawn point on another thread. This would be a cool way to add this and tick both boxes - especially if the defenders start off on the ground and trying to man tanks and turrets before the attackers can hit the ground. Atackers could also enter the battlefield on dropships that take off from the MCC if they choose to.
This would be awesome. |

A bit of a delay before attackers really start would be nice. I mean, defenders are supposed to already be there (atleast in my mind) waiting for invasion, meaning they would have defensive positions already before the attackers get in. Perhaps a delay before attackers can start, to allow defenders to take up positions? I personally wouldn't think it would start out with both sides even, unless two outside parties attacked the same completely undefended outpost simultaneously, in which case they would both be attackers.
Also, in one of the dust trailers, I remember some sort of shuttle coming in with a bunch of heavies in it, who were launched out as it entered atmosphere, which would be a very cool way to enter battle while waiting for clone resurrection units to online. |
