I've had a search for this topic and could only find a PC console showdown lol!
I've not played EVE and only been on DUST for a couple of days but its quickly clear that it is very hard to determine what skills are important at the start. I'm a Logistic and its very hard to say ok I want to be able to heal people so I need to buy 'x' but cant coz low skill ok so I go to train but have to reach lvl 2 in this to train that to unlock item to use on battle field.
I'm not saying its a bad system I like it but with low income of SP trial and error is not an option unless you can get re-spec like MAG! so a more detailed guide on classes, guns and gear would be good. I see there is a tutorial up now I'm about to try it.
Like I say I like the system but know most of my friends would not spend the time working out what to train in to do the role they want.
Just a thought would be splitting skills into classes eg Logistics skill all under 1 heading at least that way you know you are using a skill related to that suit, I do realise that some skills will over lap but just a though. |

in EVE there are things called certificates which tells you which skills you need for each profession and there are different levels like basic and advanced levels for each certificate. i guess these would help rater than splitting the skills up in to sections as they are useful for other people.
My advice in the mean time is train generic skills until you understand them more, like every class could uses more fitting space like cpu and powergrid ( so train electronics and engineerin and more shield and armor is always good (cant remeber the names of these skills as there are 2 for shields - shield amount and recharge speed

I actually just tonight got around to posting a suggestion thread requesting that the Certificate and "Required For" systems from EVE be added to Dust, they're too useful of a resource not to be shared with the players of Dust :)
Thread link in case you'd like to drop by and chip in :) https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=35836&find=unread |

Yeah thanks, I was kinda going for generic stuff anyway weapon upgrades to start etc but its the in depth stuff that is tougher these certificates from eve sound good though, nice to have some guide instead of reading through each skill and trying to work it out as sometimes in isnt obvious what skills will give you. |
