I've been noticing that enemy targets are more that capable of drilling me with a 60 round mag while we're both running and activly engaging each other. I find it a little rediculous that such a large scale FPS with projected deep impacts on the greatest MMO even has something as cheap as an aim assist option. I understand you at CCP don't want new players feeling alienated and run down if they cant hit what they shoot at. Its just so strong that I get demolished if I dont land every single round on someone's head. I don't use aim assist because it just takes away from skill and makes it a game of who can fire the most rounds in the shortest possible time. I would like to see this worked out and either fixed to make the benefits negligible, or eliminated all together because it exists only as an exploit at this point. |

There are a fairly small number of people that can aim with perfect accuracy with the stick with no aim assist, and the inclusion of said function is the only thing keeping all the DS3 users from cascading more "REMOVE KEYBOARD AND MOUSE" threads all over the forums before the support came out and everyone realized that it wasn't some overpowered ticket to instant victory.
The community asked for an option to disable it, and that's what we have now. Removing it entirely would gimp the DS3 up against the Move and kb/m users, and that's not what any of us want. |

Well, after using it for a match I have to stick with my guns as I was shooting an enemy spawn transponder when an enemy happened to spawn on it. Of course more than a handful of rounds quickly depleted his shields but then as he JUMPED backwards away from the transponder the gun followed him resulting in his death obviously. Its quite the handy tool to have at mid range as it deadens the effects of the recoil, but when it moves over large numbers of mils to track a target at point blank its just an exploit. |

Yeah, I will agree that it still needs more tweaking, but its been vastly improved from last build where it either wouldn't work at all, or would drag you upwards of 90 degrees without even moving the stick. |

I have aim assist on and I still can't hit the broad side of a barn with most of the weapons in Dust unless I'm really trying. So I don't really agree. |

And now you have experienced Games Made by CCP Rule Number 1: Everything will perform differently for every single individual users, and any attempts to correct this will result in further issues.
Honestly, that happens in many other games, but it seems like the Python that CCP prefers to work with for their backend is really ornery. |

Well yeah, but the passive shield tank Drake missle boats seem to be the #1 cookie cutter build. At least back when I played EVE |

I've noticed some aim assistance even though I turned Aim Assist off... what? I turned it off for a reason, sure it isn't as intrusive as say CoD.
Need some info, how much does the aim assist actually move? |

Well its pretty spotty to be honest, sometimes there is no movement but I have seen it rotate me a quarter of the way around as it shifted my target off a peice of equipment to someone that had just spawned, this happened outside of ADS. I have also seen it move only a couple of mils while in ADS. It has a more noticable feel if you aim close to center of mass rather than for the head as it will ride the recoil up to the head where I have seen it dampen the effects of the recoil. I've been running it lately to see first hand the effects of it. It is especially noticable when sneaking up behind someone and dumping a mag from the hip as the vast majority of the rounds will hit. |
