i dont know what some tank driver are doing to make there tanks never take damage but i feel there must be a cheat or exploit or just a heck that is letting them not die. how is it i can hit them with 3 flux grenades thats 1200x3 so 3600 points of sheild damage and there sheild dont take any damage and my assault swarms is like a joke then on top of it all i was just in a game and this same tank got hit dead on by an orbital strike and took no damage. was this like god's tank and if so why did god have 4 of them on field so there no limit so how manny vehicle type can be on the same side at the same time ?
i guess we all need to become tank drivers dont seems to be much of a point to do anything else in the game right now |

I have noticed that flux grenades aren't as devastating as their stats suggest as well. Curtain weapons do less damage to vehicles maybe it was intentional.
I have never skilled up in tanks and frankly I suck at using them, but I'm still doing ok. Tank whiners need to stop bitching, ya AV was nerfed I'm not happy about it either, but I don't see any reason to constantly rant about it. If you can't kill a tank your best option is to avoid it.
p.s. tanks aren't impossible to kill as an infantry unit if they are better tanks and better drivers you will need better AV equipment and some friends.
going up against four tanks is unfortunate ,but if you want to skill up in tanks as well by all means go ahead its one of your options
its a beta and this is a balancing experiment. |

the flux nades are waaaay bugged.. they randomly vaporize a full shield/full armor troop, and they're only supposed to work vs shield but they randomly fry someones full armored suit sometimes. and yea I've seen them do zero damage to a LAV i'm sure they suck against HAV as well. |

I was a gunner for a tank today. They obviously need to be nerfed. I know they shouldn't be solo-able, but we had a whole team hitting us with grenades and swarm launchers- it barely put a dent in the shields by the time we won. |

Just saying, any of you who don't have tank skills and trying to post about balance here are idiots. Simply stated there are expensive modules that limit the capabilities of your tank to basically surviving large swarms of infantry weapons called "Resistance amplifiers" these objects allow you to reduce the damage each hit does to you making the damage you repair more significant, so yeah they can take whole shittons of weaponry against them, but that's just because they specialized their entire tank to deal with it. This is likely to change rather drastically as more is added. |

Correction,ALL the grenades are bugged. Seems like the AV nades do no damage anymore either.

tanks are fine as are really, drive one sometime see how long you survive, or dish out the isk and fit one see how it goes, or put 4-5 mill sp in just tanks. tanks arent hard to kill...... they're tanks they should take a ridiculous beating, what you should be doing is get a tank and some av friends to deal with tanks. its like eve.......omg he has a wtf titan it should be nerfed cuz he killed my solo drake or took on my 10 man fleet with success. carebear. |

Bad comparison i'm pretty sure 10 of my friends in eve would love to catch a titan all on its own with no back up. would die a horrible slow death cause it is not designed to kill ships in the sub cap category. Kinda like battleship getting ganked by a frig gang. The problem in dust becomes that tanks are very good at killing infantry. while being fairly immune to there damage. |

you obviously didnt play before the capital hybrid nerf for the erebus huh? insta shot light dictors np.
our titan was tackled on a pos after killing a jf, he killed all 30 support ships and every light dictor they put on field and jumped before nc dropped their super fleet. |

I have driven a tank. It is easier to run and gun solo in a tank than it is to... run and gun by running around on foot with a gun. The turn speed (using the turret and tank in concert) is about as fast as it is in a suit and there is none of that dead zone crap where the reticle will just stick there then suddenly go flying off the screen.
The ISK thing is no problem if you duck for cover before your tank is about to go down. You can save it from battle to battle.
Sure, I have been shot in the tank ass by a crafty lav driver that got behind me and I couldn't shake them, or a top gun drop ship pilot that could hover out of reach and had gunners blasting down missiles. But I've also just sat in a field of fire from 5 militia av swarm operators, players throwing grenades, players firing their assault rifles at the tank, and just sort of shrugged it all off. Which is fine. You wouldn't expect to take down a tank with the equivalent of a couple of sticks and a bag full of gravel.
Also, the cost and pain and effort that it takes to skill into tanks that can roll most infantry (nowhere near 5 mill) is much less painful than the cost to skill into a decent AV fitting. Just to get picked off by a sniper.
Yes, I agree that tanks are tanks, and should be tanks. But they are easy mode and basically most matches you just sort of roll around mashing the fire button. Cause the other thing that is great about tanks is you will never run out of ammo.
A stale bran muffin could do well at this game driving a tank.
Back to the OP, there are also shield modules that will re-charge shields once activated. So the little damage you do to shields protected by the shield hardener modules is quickly negated when the shield booster thing is activated. |

That's because it's was a dictor and those things had a signature of a mountain range and a speed to match with added bonus of a paper tank. Can't remember what stats Erebus had before weapon damage nerf but I'm pretty sure it was just fitted to balls deep with tracking enhancers, my alliance used to do the same but with a moros which worked about as well. |
