Is it just me... or is dust missing allot of color? Like, it's bland looking. I want to see some green fields. LIke the buildings are grey, the ground is brown... the tree's are brown...
know what I mean? It's just dark and... bland.
thoughts guys? |

It is a bit bland but I like the mood the colors set. War is dirty. I expect they wont have landscape artists willing to work around such violence...not ones who enjoy life, that is. |

Really? We can't have more variety of color because all beautiful landscapes require landscape artists to risk their lives? The Vietnam war largely took place in lush jungles, beautiful green jungles. No one is asking for rainbows and pink unicorns, just some brighter colors, and more variety of colors. |

Right now, it seems they're working on it. Notice all the maps right now are the same one- just being re-skinned and the playable area moved around constantly. I won't be surprised when they re-skin it to be greener. |

I just posted a similar thread... whoops. I agree, everything looks a bit bland and lifeless. |

It takes place currently on one single planet and that single planet is pretty brown. There will be about 5000+ others to fight on Soon(TM). |

Nah, it's temperate. All of the planets we'll be fighting over will be temperate, at least for the time being.
Yes, the game is very brown-and-grey. It will be criticized for this, as many games have elected for the "dirty" or "gritty realism" and limit their palette to these sorts of colours. Hopefully at some point we'll get more lush environments. Certainly some of their concept art includes greener environments. |

Its not the terrain itself that I see as the problem, its the low saturation of color. Making things more brighter, more orange, more red, or more green (the rocks, not talking about plants). There is a lot you can do with an ugly rock.
