I was just wonder if it is possible to invest In a corp with isk and expect a return. Like say you throw a couple of mill or billion isk with an agreement of % return on that corps profits?
Is anything like this done in eve.
I'm not a great fps'r am ok but not great, and I just don't have the time to grind out isk to keep my merc fitted in top notch gear.
But I do love the RPG aspect of the game and am toying with the idea of just play as playboy millionaire who treats most battles as a form of sport like big game hunting or cage fighting.
So I go into battle using the best gear but also know I'm not going to earn enough per battle to meet what I'm losing. So I know right off I'm am gonna need other revenue sources.
Any thoughts anyone? |

Now i'm not sure about EVE, but you can't do anything like this in DUST.
Plus, you dont need to be loaded out with full prototype gear to be the best. All of my classes still contain mililtia upgrades, with the weapons being only standard gear and i still perform quite well.
Honest, the difference between the standard assault rifle and duvelle prototype assault rifle is extremely minimal, by the time you can purchase the prototype AR, the only difference would be you could kill with 1 or 2 less bullets with the prototype
I think you should be able to sell AUR purchased items for ISK at increased prices for people without AUR ( you should probably be able to sell things in general ) |

Who knows. CCP could add upgradeable living quarters and strippers, and they are definately adding a feature where you can watch and bet on fights :D |

Of cause it's possible, anything is possible if you make a model for it and put the effort in, It's a normal thing in dust.
I've several billion invested in other things and get a return, one of my business ventures is with a guy called James 315 a very infamous player who harasses miners till they pay him a ransom or "license fee" and that's made me quite a lot of cash.
In Dust, with a corp tax rate set at say 20% you can get money from everyone in the corp doing battles and killing NPC's when the drones are introduced.
You'll obviously have to give people something back for that corp tax, like giving them equipment for their next big battle so it costs them nothing of their own isk. Thats what large Nullsec Corps in EVE do. I never pay for anything when it comes to PVP, i buy the ship, then every time it dies i get the money back, sometimes i make a profit too if the reimbursement if for something they really want me to fly. |

The CEO of my corp in EVE does a lot of station trading, which he needs capital for, so every now and then my corp has an investment drive where members can invest ISK, and the corp guarantees at least 101% return on investment.
There is a share system in EVE, but I don't think anyone really uses it. CEOs can pay out dividends to share holders, but since their is no real share market its not all that common.
It would be nice if they fixed the share system to work like it does in the real world, ie publicly listed companies, share market, corporate take over, etc

I'm sure once Dust is fully released they'll allow Dust mercs to take their ISK and go play EOH poker with the rest of the 'verse so there's always that route you can go to |

Nothing needs to be implemented. Just set about making it happen, do you think CCP has some nice UI and features that let us eve players play secondary markets, short on commodities or invest ?
Whole regoins of space are sold or rented out. Fancy a 0.0 space station in eve ? Tip you wont find it on the ingame market.
Its very much the game behind the game and nothing is stopping this rocking and rolling even before this game releases.
All about networking and reputation.
Edit: Having made hunderds of billions doing all this I can tell you most of it was sorted out while not even logged into eve.
Always some bright spark/scammer who needs your money and can make it work better than yourself. You just gota find em and dont think Dust corps wont be looking for money to fund wars, takeovers, war barges etc they sure will..has any of this got light bulbs flashing 4 u yet ? |
