So you've run into the blight of Dust 514. Running towards a potential kill only to be blown 15 feet in the air half way across the map by a rail gun attached to a tank. It's enough to make you want to destroy flat screens! Sure, it's closed beta testing, and unfortunately things will be imbalanced at times. Hell we should be blessed we get to see certain things act the way they do now, before they get finalized into open beta, and finally release.
We all know currently tanks are a win button for most people, and even though they are frustrating to deal with, here are some tips to maybe help quell the need to pull your hair out, and throw controllers around the room.
I personally have fitted a class to deal with those pesky tanks, and sure I'm one man facing a massive machine but as long as I can catch them off guard I have a good chance of dealing some damage.
First thing I would like to point out is that seeing as there is a lot of new people around, or such a wide diversity of skills, and players; some tanks are not as scary as they seem. I'm not sure how often, but people will pick up militia grade tanks and outfit them with various turrets. The reasons are limitless but I'd place money on cost. This is an important factor due to armor, and you'll find yourself destroying militia grade tanks with no shields with a single AV grenade.
This brings me to my next point. Fitting. You can, and should aim to take out tanks as soon as they become visible as they are common game changers and are used as such.
Stamina Boosts and Assault Fits: Close the distance! It takes awhile to lob a grenade far, use these bonuses to do just that. You'll find yourself needing to get close, or traverse obstacles to gain clear shots. Stamina, and lighter mobility can do just that.
AV Grenades: As with most weapons they come with various attack styles. My personal favorite is the one that magnetically connects, and sticks to vehicles. Sneaking up on a tank that has it's focus on another target can get you close enough to lob a couple of these at your foe. The basic one does a ton of damage.
Heavy Explosives: You're AV fit is absolutely going to need an explosive weapon. I prefer the assault swarm launcher for it's multitargeting. I'd use something that has a targeting feature however, and use your cover to keep hidden why you blast off rockets and forget about them.
Damage Multipliers and Mods: I personally feel the player can mix and match modifiers as it matches their play style and means for tank destruction. I use a heavy weapon damage modifier but I'm sure anything can work just remember that you do have the option to increase your swarm launcher's damage.
Strength in Numbers: I can't stress this enough. 12 rockets flying at the same tank are a lot better then 4. I find myself guilty of this, but with lack of communications it's hard to organize. If you have the means to get more support against a tank don't hesitate. A destroyed tank is one step closer to a victory.
Finally remember to use Supply Depots to your advantage. Most players I've run into bring out their tanks when their team starts to lose. This can get everyone on the battle field fitted for infantry fire fights, and not much risk for a tank driver. Supply depots are a good way to quickly switch your fit without rushing into the enemy, or clicking the suicide button. Also take note that armor and shields replenish on switched fits as soon as they are equipped.
As more and more people get wise to the advantage tanks have in the battlefield there will be more and more of them to contend with. I feel as though this will create a balance. Where tanks will be worrying about other tanks more then infantry, which is the way it should be. I just don't think a lot of new players have taken the time to gain skills to contend with those running a muck in game yet.
I am as equally as frustrated with the advantage tanks have right now, but I also understand I signed up for a closed beta test. This option isn't fool proof, and you'll find yourself getting upset trying to close the distance between you and a massive piece of killing machinery. I just figured I'd share some things I use to level the playing field and any other examples would be extremely welcome.
There are plenty of other forum posts to discuss your opinion on the way tanks act in the game, I would like to keep this to a helpful means to taking tanks down. Please try to refrain from antagonizing and offending, and keep this a helpful post.

We need more people to think like this. I always find myself being the only (or at leas it seems like it) person trying to gun down tanks. |

You're not the only one :) I see at lot of people firing their assault-rifles at armored vehicle, while I'm trying to get an aim with a swarm of rockets; oddly enough it seems to sorta work, as the vehicles turn to try and kill the other guys |

A heavy weapon modifier... only boosts heavy weapons. It doesn't effect the swarm launcher, so ya may want to use something that does :P |

If I can wield Prototype Breach Forge gun and manage to destroy a tank on my own, then how much more easy will it be if there were more of me. |

I have even killed a Sagaris with an assault rifle. It was almost dead - no shields and almost no armor - when I emptied a magazine into it. Nice boom (and apologies for stealing someone elses hard-earned kill).
I run a special AV fit with advanced swarms and AV grenades, and carry an SMG for personal protection while running to a good firing spot. And I have learned "the trick" of firing around corners - means I might get several shots at it before it either runs away or kills me. |

You know it would of been a bit more helpful had you actually posted what class a swarm launcher falls into, rather then just poke at the fact that someone was wrong. If you could in fact post what class of weapon swarm launchers belong to I'd appreciate it. They look kinda heavy to me. o.o |

Yeah, I assumed it was Heavy too but press Triangle in your Fittings screen and look through the info and you'll eventually see the Swarm Launcher is actually classed as a Light Weapon. |

Heavy: HMGs and Forge Guns Sidearm: SMGs and Scrambler Pistols Light: EVERYTHING else.
Weapon upgrades only effect that class of weapon (light helps an Assault Rifle, for example), not the slot on the suit (a heavy mod won't help that same Assault Rifle in the Heavy suit's main slot)
The thing that confused you, and EVERYONE at some point, was that they gave it to the stock heavy fitting. Most people agree that this is the most idiotic thing we have seen due to the Heavy not having the speed to chase nor the EHP to tank, combined with the aforementioned 'Swarm launcher is a WHAT weapon?' issue that appears so wearily often. |

I outfitted a dropship with lots of shields and a pair of railguns. Never got the opportunity to take it against a tank yet (it takes 2 battles to afford to replace one) but LAVs and dropships seem to be going down pretty easily. |
