so, i've gathered so far that only militia gear is infinite, every thing else you buy only is limited right?
well, is that fair? Now, now, I like it, it makes you think, i'm not saying get rid of it, i'm saying... would this work. I mean they want integration to EVEonline, so what if this happened.
You work for a coperation. Just for lols lets say IGN makes a corp. they could put money towards making better gear. Now IGN can create a custome... drop suit lets say. they can pick what you can carry out in it, how many grenade spots, how many modual spots and what not. Then every one in Dust with IGN's corp get's either this armor infinite times and the militia gear infinte.
Now IGN can pick to create weapons or armor or nothing.
thoughts? sorry for the bad spelling in a rush lol.
Edit: as well they can also adjust the color. |

were is this customization dropsuit talk coming from
edit: or is that what you are suggesting should be possible
if so you will be able to get BPOs for curtain dropsuits in the future and i'm sure your corp will be making enough isk to support its members or it will simply burn to the ground either one.
I do like the idea of custom colors, maybe have a curtain amount of layers for a curtain amount of aurum and then you can spend isk or aurum to get a sort of BPO for the color scheme itself and have a never ending supply of the it to put on your existing dropsuits drop suits |

I'm saying that if cpp where to give EVE corp's that power, the power to create their dust 514 mercs drop suits and gear, they could customize it. I've played a bit of EVE and read a bit about it and it's relashionship with Dust, so EVE corps could spend their currency to make their Dust mercs stronger on the battlefield... it's an idea./

The sandbox and customization of EvE (and from what I've seen so far, Dust) does not quite extend like that. They give you the tools, and you decide how to put them together. Paint Jobs aren't apart of that (Mainly due to processing power in EvE, suppose more easily doable in Dust). Different suit loadouts are like in EvE, where there are variations of each type of suit. If you mean corps choosing what the mercs wear, that wouldn't do to well since the mercs on the ground are the ones best suited to choose their loadouts. If you mean having corp colors for paint jobs, that would be interesting to see, but ultimately not needed. Corps will be able to supply the isk (and later I would assume gear) that the mercs are charging for their services however. |

I think there will be enough dropsuit combinations in the future to appease everyone's play style and no need to customize your own to much, unless you want to upset the balance and make an unfair OP dropsuit to which i would have to say no to.
but as I said I fully support the color customization idea |

I'm not understanding the concern or the intended suggestion to fix the concern really. =\ Militia gear is starter base-line stuff. Currently, it's infinite. Better gear is not. If you die while wearing it, it's gone. This keeps the economy in motion.
Now reading your second post, I think I get what you're saying. I don't think this would work really. Even if corporations could build corp-unique gear (I assume you suggest that this corp gear would not be available to non-corp players?), the corp player base would still be required to have all prereq skills to fit it. Who would define these skill prereqs?
Customization comes from specialization. EVE is full of skills and options. In time, Dust will be as well.
