Title is my overall impression from my first 3 matches.
Battle #1: Map clearly shows friendly and enemy spawns, A, B, and C. I don't know what they do or what they are for, but I can gather that I need to at least be at one of them. Upon further inspection I realized the goal is to "hack" it... Which apparently somehow makes us win. Cool, we won.
Battle #2: Map shows nothing. No spawns, no objectives, just blue markers and orange markers. Ok maybe this is some sort of deathmatch. *Spawns and shoots things.* Ok now the lady in my head is talking about clones and how we don't have enough... cool... Oh we lost. Ok then... Let's find another battle.
Battle #3: Still no objectives or anything on the map. All of my dropsuits say "Invalid" and I can't spawn.... *PS button > Turn off system.* |

Perhaps this would have been better posted in the "General Discussion"
currently instant battle will throw you into one of 2 different game modes.
TDMish mode - kill the enemy until clone counter is at 0 on either side (counter is below the minimap/radar)
MCC domination? mode - capture and hold objectives to deplete the enemies MCC (big flying blimp looking thing) the objectives are cannons and are the only way to hurt the MCC's
its a beta invalid fittings is a known problem currently being worked on
get a mic and talk to people in game to find some help with your questions or check out some of the pinned topics in the general discussion board. |

Dexter Ryxen wrote:< OP Thanks for the info guys. Stick with it mate, try asking in your local chat if you're not understanding something, I try to help people in my local, hopefully there'll be someone in yours to answer your questions, if not look me up in-game.
This is an deep game (it's based on Eve which is possibly the deepest !) AND it's full of bugs and the UI is clunky at best in places and there are big holes where tutorials should be, but as I say have a little patience try to enjoy what you can. CCP aren't like the big mainstream game builders, they have their way of doing things and they get good results eventually, they also listen to their users, just look at how many posts are on this forum and I'll bet good money every single one has been read by them, they might not have the time to reply to everything but they'll certainly make sure they listen to everything.
And if you're not enjoying it right now, look out for the new build when everyone gets reset to zero skills n isk and it's back to a level playing field, hopefully with tanks being less of a risk, then come back n see what else is new. |

don't be too afraid to make mistakes, or to post about those mistakes on the forums.
you can have three characters, and each character will gain Passive Skill Points, so its ok to have one of each basic starter type mercenary.
Try out the weapons and find out about what you like and don't like, think about it all, and try to be objective when you post about it on the forums.
The more you learn now, before the next reset, will serve you well when we lose all our SP and ISK via the reset.
Also, don't forget to read the patch notes when loading up the game, it can give you ideas about stuff you might want to look at (test), as well as inform you about the games systems in general. As you learn more the patch notes will make more sense, so its good for assessing self-progression.

No offense but I don't really think this addresses any part of my original post. I am capable of understanding the concept of different character types and their respective weapons. |
