Hey folks,
I just got into the beta tonight. Played my first game and had some issues. When I first spawned, I couldn't see any enemies on the map. When they finally did show up, they were all in flying ships. The pattern became: spawn, run 50 feet, get splattered by a missile from a flier, respawn, repeat.
What am I missing? |

That was the Dust 514 Welcoming Committee. The other version is getting spawned in with a group of 4-5 red dots.... |

you need to stay with a group of your blue dots. turn your mic on, turn voice chat on in game, turn push to talk off. |

Just really bad luck for your first games ;)
Sorry to hear that though, I know it is frustrating. Were you on a map with random spawn points, or were you able to select various spawn points (i.e., Home Base; Objectives A, B, C, etc.)? If random, as soon as you are aware of your current location upon spawn, sprint for some wall or cover. If you are able to choose your location, maybe move your spawn closer to starting point where hopefully it's safer. You and your team have access to equipment called Drop Uplinks that you can place around the map (assuming you survive initial spawn camp). This will give you and your team a specific location(s) to spawn into that the enemy may not have line of sight on yet. Heavy suits with Swarm Launchers may help, just L1 towards the craft to zoom, HOLD R1 for a few moments until you see a red lock confirmation and release to fire. Mostly likely though, the ship and pilot are higher up in skills so your militia fit launcher may not make much of a dent.
Bad start to a new game, really. Just try to keep at it, avoid running straight predictable lines, and use cover if available for now and try to get some kills if possible. Skill points will come and you can train up for those weapons to pull them out of the sky with time and better Dropsuits to survive more than one volley. Basic stuff, I know, but try to survive and learn the game a bit if you can. Sooner or later you WILL hook with a small group that DOES know what they're doing..... from time to time =)
All the best,

Has nobody started a help channel yet. Really feel like we need one tht ccp operates kinda like in eve. Well since we don't ill start one later.
OP: srry to hear about ur bad luck. If ur finding survivability is a problem create a heavy dropsuit with an AR or ur weapon of choice (don't use shotguns or SMGs in ur main weapons slot on a heavy this is a bad idea) ull have reduced mobility but ull survive longer and be able to get a couple assists and hopefully kills. Also stick with other blues and if u can get in a squad with other micced players do it (a good way to get a squad is ask for one in local and in the LFSquad channel). Hope tht helps. |

Actually the KBM is super gimped. Its only really good for sniping.. And even then, not too much. I'm a long time PC FPS player and as soon as KBM was enabled, I started playing it. Today the girlfriend wanted to use the computer so I used the DS3 for the first time in weeks.. And I got a consistent 4 to 1 with an AR... And I almost never use the AR. |
