Will edit and add information in a few minutes BRB.
Yes its fun to get salvage and the idea behind good salvage looks like its that the folks using better items then hence the better salvage.
I get the idea of dead clone then we get a weapon or item slot salvage from the dead clones.
And dead vehicles gives us vehicle weapons or items from a vehicle slot.
But one day I noticed I had a VEHICLE as salvage.
No one had any idea why??
So we want intact VEHICLES as salvage?
Then the question of "what brings the INTACT vehicles onto the battlefield?"
And then I noticed the RDV bringing me my tank and I went AHA!!
I tested this with a squadmate who said they never got any vehicle salvage.
We shotdown some RDVs called Bolas but no salvage that match other than a LAV Limbus.
Then next match the enemy brings in two tanks and we concentrate on shooting down Bolas RDVs and at end of match my squadmate goes dude! I got several Sagaris Officer edition as salvage!!
So in this build shooting down an RDV gets you a CHANCE to score a VEHICLE.
If the field has just LAVs and Dropships then chances are you will get a DS or a LAV.
If the enemy has tanks on the field then shooting down an RDV gives you a CHANCE of getting a tank.
Odds improve if there is more than one enemy tank on the field.
Odds get better if the enemy tanks on the field are of high quality, i.e. if the enemy tanks are Sagaris/Surya then chances are very good that shooting down that RDV bringing an enemy LAV will score you a very good chance to get a salvage Surya, Sagaris or black ops HAV. |

i think the salvage system right now is pure random. because suddenly i receive salgaris in loot, Wooot? i never owned one nor i never shot a tank in that match, some days later it happend again. maybe it rewards after how well you play for your team? i dont know,
but it doesent make sence me getting thoose salgaris in salvage |

there's a video of an interview, ill try to find a link, where the guy says at the moment it is random, but in the next build it is going to:
everything that is destroyed in that match will go in to a pile and then a percentage is randomly taken and then that percentage is split randomly between everyone.
some people were complaining that it should be done if you kill someone then you should get some of their loot, but i like the random loot better as there are a lot of support roles like logi and dropship pilots that wont get kills but are useful (well some of them are ) so they deserve the loot too |

On the other post they explained that having loot based on what you kill was too stressing for servers, so they have to do with loot table set up.

If an enemy has a militia tank on the field and you or someone on your team shoots an RDV then theres a chance of getting a sagaris/surya/black ops hav.
