Well the E3 build was up and in use at E3 before we got it in game, so the Tokyo build could be a test build before we get it and get moved to the new server. |

Showing this at TGS seems kinda odd. FPSes aren't very popular and neither is EVE, as far as I know.
I dunno, I guess I could see this having a niche following there, but probably less than in the west. Now if it had giant robots...
DUST reminds me of Armored Core 5 a little, except without the mechs, and that's fairly popular there. |

You aren't going to have "real" orbital bombardments until maybe faction wars stuff at earliest, or even all the way into 2013 when the nullsec content is released. I mean, it isn't like they're just going to let EVE players casually bombard random Instant Battle games in Dust. |

For a download-only game, open beta->release doesn't have to be as clearly defined. They said it'd be released this year, but they'll obviously keep working on it.
I agree that it needs to work a lot better than it currently does before "release", though. If they could fix most of the bugs, I'd be happy with it. They're going to keep adding features and new gameplay after release, so I'm not worried about lack of gameplay features and modes right now. |

Dust 514 beta is totally different to a beta of a disk title, because dust is a digital title it means that ccp will be working on it LONG after release, that's why EVE is known as 'permanently in beta'.....because its been tweaked and improved several times a year since 2003. Just because dust beta will be ending soon (no TM) it doesn't mean its a bad thing. Full release just means everything that's in the game will be released, with ccp in the background constantly tweaking and improving. If this was not a digital download and beta was ending soon to get ready for full release....THEN it would mean trouble, but like eve it is going to be 'permanently in beta' for a long time. I can't wait :) |

Above posters are correct. Do not let the game you are currently playing distract you into believing that what you see is what you'll get.
CCP obviously has an interior build, the next build. And it probably will look and perform way better than our build. Not to mention that the hardware environment on TQ will allow much better performance and functionality tha SiSi.

If you release a game to the public that is incomplete, no matter how many future expansions it has it will flop. People will say "lolbad" and never try it again.

I Tottaly agree. As a PS3 player most of our games are on CD .We're quick to judge and slow to forget. We decide if we like the game on first contact with the gameplay. So we wont come back to that game if we don't like it even if they constantly add new content.
Thats just the way it is PS. I am excited and will play dust because I believe that CCP will make a truly deep game (I'm tired of Call of Duty and Battlefield and etc.) |

Typically you would be correct. However, this is FTP with regular patching and two major content updates a year. Some players will certainly put it down and pick it back up again when there are no major titles releasing (Think April - August).
The financial model isn't even built for a day 1 release cash out. The model is built to get you invested in your toon/s and that doesn't necessarily have to happen on release day. |

not to judge but thats a little contradictory.
in any case, the game is DL not CD, it will sit on peoples HD's and get updates when they go back to it.
Most people are living in hope that DUST will work, and it probably has something to do with the fact that its not cookie cutter... so judging it by cookie cutter standards is a little unfair imho.
I wish the current playable beta build was more user friendly, but i can wait for the internal build to surface, I'm not taking DUST too seriously till I'm sure there will be no more skill wipes. |

I think summer 2013 for the mtac was mentioned. Game doesn't need to be complete at launch, what is at launch needs to work and be playable. Extra worlds, modes, suit/vehicle types, skill sets, roles on battlefield can be added later.
If player corps, quick match, player resale market, hit-detection, faction war are ready at launch it should do fine, rest can wait for expansions.
Tq only means we are on final server, not that it won't still be closed beta. Last wipe just means after that we get new build and keep our skills stuff till wipe at end of beta. Will be in closed beta till around Christmas I figure, not for sales, just when i guess it will be ready based on hints I've seen in blogs, if not ready by then I'm sure CCP will delay it til it is ready. |

the one i was looking at had 10 districts, and the districts numbers were 1401 - 1410

I believe I read somewhere in EVE forums that, reason why EVE build that is on singularity is some patches older than current TQ build is that CCP could test out how viable it is to have different schedules for updates and patches to both games.
So keeping that in mind I would assume that generally we would have 2 major expansions per year, but possibly more if sircumstances arise. |
