Its nothing personal its just I suck and you suck. Folks whine about thats OP or this is OP but the sad truth is its NOT THE WEAPONS that are OP. Its a very small playerbase thats OP.
In build after build I was oh man! that guy killed me with that so that must be OP! since that guy went 10 and 0 with that weapon! Then I try that "OP" weapon and I go 3 and 3 and sometimes 3 and 9.......bah!!!
And even in my HAV I get 5 to 7 kills and my gunners get more kills so the solution must be have a gunner drive my HAV and I use that "OP" small missile turret on my tank....right??.....bah! same AVERAGE results for me.
I drove a HAV and noticed dying a lot so then I said AV must be OP.....right, right! then I tried it and those kitten HAV drivers killed me over and over so then I said HAVs must be OP!....right.....bah!!
Then a few days ago I am using Nano Debacles guides and I level up a lot! of HAV related skills and my "OP" hav.......DIES!! Over and over some clone mother kitten kills me and my HAV with that "OP" AV!!!
Thus I sadly conclude that I am AVERAGE! since I loose one HAV per match on average. And yes! I fit them properly!!
I notice that its just a few hav drivers that are good with most AVERAGE hav drivers dying match after match.
All I can say is the game is working as intended. Sadly I fit into the 90 percent of AVERAGE players.
Any help to improve my lacking hav skills?? |

This small playerbase is constantly invading all battles spawning between 1 and 5 tanks on one side. My regards for their sacrifice concerning Life, Food and Toilet. And they all do have different names ^^ Okay.. 2 alts on every account I guess.

Its just frustration with my being AVERAGE that bothers me since before it was oh look! that guy Protoman went 30 and 0 with an AR so that must be the weapon for me! and I just had AVERAGE results with that weapon.
And recently it was oh look! that HAV driver went 30 and 0 so lets try HAV driving and my results were just mother kitten! with my hav fits getting toasted match after match.
I follow the guides. I rep when shields are just a tiny bit low and still!! my havs die, die and DIE!!! Its frustrating that no matter what I try the havs still die.
All I can say is I am going to try with a few sagaris and if not then I am just going to stay with militia tanks since my gunnlogis get toasted far to often match after match. I HAVe no idea.

undo the AV weapon nerf and everything is fine. Make the swarm launchers fire properly like in the last build and not going crazy all over the place. Seriously ive seen swarms sometimes flying around corners. In the last build the swarms where flying stright to its target. While now you need to stay wide in the open otherwise they might fly to the wall next to you. |

Stay close to or behind infantry is how the 'good players" keep their **** alive. I know, tanks are supposed to be upfront, leading the battle, but not when you get idiots in a tank. Anyways, I like to keep an armor repairer, 2 180mm nanofibre type a plates, 2 F-S3 shield extenders, 2 quantum CPU enhancers, and a missile launcher on my tank, and I rarely lose it. It's a madrugar, however. If you want a shield tank, I'm not the person to ask. Personally, I think shield tanks are stronger. And, with this setup you have to keep a militia blaster or you exceed PG and CPU needs.
But, yes, the main point, is don't go too far ahead of the infantry, and try to keep somewhere that you aren't vulnerable from one side, you are at the top of a hill, and from the other side, you can easily drive in reverse to get behind a wall or mountain, so that they block swarm shots.
The hill is so you can fire down at people. If there's even the slightest hill, it's impossible to kill someone while you're in a tank. |

It is refreshing to see an honest post like this. Sure this is a Beta and there are going to be balance issues that need to get worked out. That's what we are here for right?
But the OP here addresses a reality that a lot of shooter fans are reluctant to voice in the open...There Is Always A Bigger Fish.
I have been playing shooters for...what...about 6 years now. I am certainly better than I was in those dark early days but I still consider myself "just average". I am pretty sure if I had dedicated as many hours as I have to playing FPS multiplayer to any other vocation I would be pretty awesome at whatever that was LOL.
But that fact still remains that regardless of significant playtime, my 18 year old son can pick up a game he has never played before and outperform me at least 80% of the time. Hey, some folks just got it.
I have accepted the fact that I am not going to be the best, EVER...and that has freed me up to enjoy the game and have more fun. And when those rare moments come, when my name is at the top of the leaderboards, I cherish the accomplishment that much more.
Hang in there buddy and always remember...it goes both ways...chances are there is always somebody out there worse than you ;)
P.S: Nice shoutout to my buddy Debacle Nano. He's a great kid, a good tanker and one of my Shadow Company Brothers!! |

Dude seriously i despite shield tanks you know why? Cause their shield boosters are pathetic compared to armor repairs. Want a good setup for a armor tank? Here: 1 X heavy armor rep 1 X small armor rep 1 X damage resistance amplifier <- ditch this if you use a militia tank 1 X PG upgrade 1 X 120MM armor plates
1 X damage controll unit
2 X small missile launchers and a large railgun
not bothered to post the 100% specifications. My advice is you get a armor based tank, when engage a enemy tank up close start the heavy armor repair BEFORE you actually take damage. Cause allmost all damage inflicted to you gets instantly repaired. Use the small armor repairs if you have the time to recover from small damages. It can give you around 2000~2200HP back. On a note the heavy armor rep has a delay around 5 secs so dont complain when you activate it that it doesnt work stright like on a shield tank. |

a big thing to remember with tanks is that you have to play according to your fitting. if your using a railgun, play at range and if your using a missile turret, change your fittings so you can get on the move and take a little more of a beating. blasters are awesome and you need to have a tank that can withstand getting up front to the red dots. |

Kind of like making ice.
You don't put just enough water in there, and those icecubes are gonna be too small. Too much, and you risk getting your sink wet. Yea, I agree, tanks are just about as unforgiving |

man, been a while... anyways, I suggest that you first figure out your settings. That's all your sensitivity settings, auto aim or no, etc etc. THEN find your loadout/weapon that you'll use more than anything else. You'll know what gun you'll use, just simply by how much you like it and how well you perform. THEN start editing the skills to help you perform with that weapon. THEN you can start working on other things once you master that. In the end, you just gotta test a ton of stuff out before you can start killing better than average players. Another thing is that perfect practice makes perfect. You need to practice to a point, so you can develop a playstyle that fits you. Basically, sharpen your skills by practicing as best as you can. Then do all of the above. Then see how you do. |

The sad truth is that the small handful of star players (including but not limited to the Clan Who Shall Not Be Named) are very skilled at zeroing in on the weapons and tactics that will give them the greatest advantage.
There was one very skilled player (I haven't seen him around lately) who was clearly a FPS god. I believe I killed him mano-e-mano twice and got lucky in the heat of battle perhaps another two times, but otherwise my clones would normally form a small pile at his feet. In spite of him being an all around better player than 99% of us, he also invariably used whatever weapon was the most imbalanced at the time: Creodon Breach AR, Boundless Breach SMG, the pre-nerfed Minddrive SMG, and when the going ever got tough, he'd start tossing REs at you.
My point is that the weapons clearly have balancing issues, and the better players out there are usually more likely to be taking advantage of this fact. (And who can really blame them for scouring the weapon stats for CCP's many oversights?)
Humans hate risk and they hate losing. CCP should have known this from EVE, but I think the sheer speed and ruthlessness with which the FPS community finds balance exploits has caught them off guard. |

Hmmm so to do better I need diverse tank setups? A railgun for long range tank hunting. A midrange missile setup for anti lav /infantry. A closeup setup thats missile or blaster based.
I have been just using shield tanks but from now on I will start trying out armour tanks.
Thanks everyone for all the tips.
