CCP, a lot of the problems heavies have with av is that they can take a few punches, but they are slow and usually get caught up in splash damage big time. If you implemented some type of splash resist mod to help the survivability of whomever uses them, i think that would be a beneficial move.

This seems like a good suggestion. I second the motion. A module that takes up a suit slot (cost) that significantly reduces splash damage would be an effective way for a heavy to stand in the line of fire vs a vehicle (lots of splash from vehicle fire) while not being invulnerable.
The concept also seems in line with recent drop suit changes that focus on slotting vice base hit point enhancement |

I...uhh...third this? Wouldn't this be sort of an armor hardener or a shield amp or something to that effect? Just wondering. If not, temp shield amplifiers? I'm just trying to think of things that would seem feasible within the confines of the game's universe. |

Armor HP should be enough, we can't take away a module slot for an effect that might save them 1 or 2 shots. |

Yes, if it were up to me, I would make a splash resistance module a low slot item (where the armorstuff goes). This doesn't restrict it to just heavies but heavy suits, by nature, should have the lows to accommodate such a module
It also makes some in character sense that splash damage resistance would be more achievable as a 'flash nanite armor coating' or some such flavor text instead of a shield buff |

And while I understand your argument, I don't have enough data to support or attack it. We don't really know if reducing or negating splash dmg would achieve the desired outcome of heavies being more survivable vs vehicles
That is the assumption that we are basing our suggestion upon
The risk you run with increasing base hp is that there are so many skills that boost the base higher and higher you just end up with unkillable heavies. And the whining commences
Looking for a choice that the player has to make ( slottable module) that boosts AV capability without unbalancing the suit overall |

Nice point.
While using my GEK-38, heavies armor barely survive that.
Isn't there resist mods for just damage on vehicle shields? if there was something like that would take a high slot the top left (replacing shield extenders) and make it have a module like it's a vehicle to a point if we want it to semi-survive vs vehicles. |
