This happens very often. I call in a dropship and the thrust controls don't work. I can't take off at all. I tried using a keyboard and it worked fine on that, so I'm pretty sure it's a control issue as opposed to a physics issue. L1 works everywhere else. I've reset the controls to default and it still won't work.
Also, I let someone else try and they could take off with no problems.
This is really frustrating, because about 75% of the time I call in a dropship, it's reduced to a stationary turret unless I try to fly with the controller while using my pinkie on the space bar to control thrust. |

Have you tried directional thrust (forward/back) at the same time you try to lift?
Pre-Precursor dropships sometimes wouldn't lift either, and directional 'pulled it loose' from the ground (or whatever it was parked on). |

I've tried just about every combination of inputs, so yeah, I've tried that.
Like I said, it works on the keyboard, so I know it's a control issue. |

It's a known bug. Or at least I've seen it in this forum a couple of times. It usually goes away if you powercycle your PS3 and someone once claimed that they fixed it by unplugging any USB devices from their PS3. I haven't tested the second one yet. |

I currently have no USB devices plugged in and it still doesn't work.
Power cycling now, though this has been going on since last night and it's been turned off and on since then.
I guess dropships are another thing I can cross off the list of things I can actually test, along with "the entire battle portion of the game" about 75% of the time.
What's really frustrating is that once I call it in, I have to either sit in the driver seat like a dumbass the whole battle or let someone steal it and get it blown up. |

UPDATE: I've tried various things and they seem to help.
The other day, I plugged my DS3 in via USB and it worked after that.
That didn't seem to work today, though, so I tried a few other things. I was just watching Crunchyroll on my PS3, so I tried turning the remote control off (which is always controller 7) and it started working. I did this in the middle of battle and it started working right away.
They keyboard still works every time I've tried it, though. So it's definitely some weird control-related bug.
So: try plugging in your DS3 try turning off/on your DS3 try turning off the bluetooth remote if you have one (just like you turn off a DS3, hold PS button->turn off controller) |
