Now, I don't know if this has been brouhgt up yet or not, since i'm lazy and refuse to go through all the forums just for the sake of being thorough. If this has, in fact, already been posted then please just ignore this or post a link to the original.
But the flight celing for dropships should be lowered. not alot, but enough and I am sure there are many people who know exactly what I am talking about already. There is exactly 1 map where dropships are unfairly overpowered simply due to exploiting the terrain. You all know the one with the massive towers flanking either side of an industrial complex.
While sitting up there they can rain fire in the form of missiles on the entire battlefield from a stable platform and the only things that can reach effectively enough to actually be a threat(since if anything else hits them they simply move the dropship 10 meters one way or the other and are no longer able to be hit) are other dropships and orbital strikes. Both of which can also be easily avoided or dealt with. Personally I would simply prefer the flight celing being lowered, but a perhaps more fair solution would simply be to make the tops of those towers unsafe zones.
I have only encountered two people thus far who have abused this and both times they proved to be impossible to remove, much less kill. |

no.
flying vehicles fly. sorry you prefer they land in front of you so you can av nade them, but thats not how things work.
sorry for the angry tone of voice, but thats like saying the scout suits should run slower cause they run faster than everyone else. |

Exactly. They fly. They should fly and move around, not perch on top of a building that allows them to avoid nearly all forms of retaliation.

While I see the analogy your attempting to make, it's an extremely poor one. I'm not even certain you read my entire post before disagreeing with me. The Dropships are not inherently broken any more than any other vehicle in the game it is simply that one circumstance makes them basically impossible to destroy. The vehicle isn't broken, but there is a unfair exploit utilizing terrain that makes it impossible for the other team to fight back. |

yes i read your post, and honestly, your opinion of how someone should fly them is irrelevant. if you can do it without hacking, its perfectly okay with ccp. in fact, history proves that ccp will shake the hands of the guy who found out how to make good use of the dropship and tell you to suck it up. all is fair in love and war. |

People moaned about this one all last build, so... yea. Not saying its not bad, but its not as bad. Plus if CCP were gonna do something about what we called 'Tower Campers', they'd have done it on Precursor.
Seriously, used to be one on each tower. Sometimes two. From opposite teams. They knew they'd get more points from such a temporary truce. |

Likewise your dismissal of my opinion is irrelevant. The fact that you are trying to attack me so vehemently merely proves my point. In the end I am merely providing feedback to something I feel is unfair, whether or not the devs decide to make use of it is none of our concerns. We are beta testers, what we do is play their game, identify things that are broken or potentially unfair, and expose them, nothing more.
Also history has proven CCP tries for balance, too hard at times. |

This issue is so poorly conceived and poorly stated.
The stated request is a lowered flight ceiling for dropships. I could see an argument for that, since we can get them high enough that swarms can't lock on (although I disagree with it, altitude is our only escape sometimes) but it has nothing to do with the issue of dropships landing on top of the buildings on Plateau. Lowering the flight ceiling so that they can't reach the top of those buildings is entirely TOO low.
As it is you can use a sniper rifle to kill the gunner in the dropship. If someone is camping up there just find an angle where you can see 'em and kill 'em.
Oh, and fun fact, there's a bug right now that keeps drop ships from taking damage from orbital strikes. Well, I assume it's a bug. |

CCP isn't going to do anything about this because the fighters we're gonna get will annihilate a dropship stopped on top of a building. |

When tower parrots actually start too annoy me I've taken to just jumping jumping in a cheap throw away viper(with at least one gunner when I can manage it) and going up there after them. If I'm careful they don't even know I'm coming until it's too late and I'm standing up there with them, then pop the gunners and then the pilot. Given this does not always work well or result in kills but it's usually enough to scare them off the perch. |

Honestly I would like the flight ceiling raised. Tower camping is not a "hack" or "glitch". If I see it I want to be able to get on top of it.
Artificial limits are stupid, and I disagree completely with your entire principle |
