who else here thinks it should not become ANOTHER AV methood and instead should be useable to EMP objectives/instalations, to jam radars, etc. |

I'm hoping for EMP stuff myself. Would love to shut down radar and such. |

We have no idea at this stage what eWar will do. Speculation is mostly pointless. We know that at least some dropships will get eWar bonuses, so presumably it is not limited to AV and can, in fact, be used BY vehicles. |

It will help AV stuff but not to the point where it's stand alone can kill a tank.
I want to see some Capaciter and Energy drainers to render a tank useless with a squad of guys making their guns unable to fire and them having to get out of the area or get out to kill the infantry. |

I don't know. As is it's possible to make a vehicle nearly indestructible with enough SP, and I've seen them dominate more maps than get taken out. Something like confusing their radar, giving them visual static, reducing RoF/accuracy/movement doesn't seem like a game breaker, especially since it would in all likelihood have it's own expensive skill tree/equipment with limited functionality.
I think if turret firing/accuracy/splash damage was worked out a little better, it'd be a fair trade. |

as long as its not focused as AV im good however i hate that one guys idea about making tanks unable to move/shoot untill someone repair tools it because that would be way to strong |

I like the intent of the Op. EWAR bloody best be AV too though.
It'd be interesting to see equipment/modules which could disable/lock null cannons temporarily. That sort of thing would be good, but again, really hard to balance in a sand box. |

Personally I think it should be both. Note: I'm not saying every ewar skill/module should do all of the above, but rather that within the preview of ewar all of the above should be options to spec/fit into.

to be clear, Ewar shouldn't be another AV stuff. It should be of it's own, but of course it plays into AV and helps it a bit.
But even the little help ewar could be, it still doesn't mean the AV stuff now can take on a tank with the ewar cause of timing and damage to the vehicle |

Edit: yanks changed to tanks honestly making them completely immoble till a repair tool guy comes sounds OP(as in over powered) im pretty sure only me and a few other people actually use repair tools do to the lack of points
*EDIT* btw im guessing commad suit will lead the ewar so hopefully the lack of speed or health will make it not the super AV |

Just like most active equipment it will only last one cycle. and a webber never 100% stopped anything just slowed it to a crawl. |

I like the idea of doing something to hamper a tank without killing it. It honestly does more to promote teamwork in the game on both sides. The vehicle users will have to coordinate with repairmen if they want to make serious use of a tank, while the EW team will have to coordinate their trap with something to finish off the tank. Either way, teamwork is needed.
I don't understand this fear about making tanks useless anytime EW is mentioned. Personally, it's just one aspect of the dynamics involved. I really like the idea they have in another game, ECW will completely crash the software on anyone close enough to the blast, causing them to see a blue screen of death followed by a reboot screen as the software scrambles to get back up again. I could also see some traps causing interference on movement for troopers. I would see the AT stuff as being a separate investment of SP and ISK from these and clearly wouldn't have as much of an impact on troopers.
Either way, I just see EW as being the one thing that doesn't kill you outright, but really ____s up your next few minutes, keeps the complacent on their toes and teaches them that adaptability is key on the battlefield. Especially in a game where you can customize more than one fitting at a time. |

what makes you think webifier grenades/mines won't be effective against infantry?
also "stamina" may well get converted to Capacitor across the board, this would open the game up for all sorts of nastiness.
Currently we have grenades that can take out shields, but what about grenades or beam lasers that suck Cap. It may be possible in the future to not only screw with vehicle repair cycles, but logistics suits' remote repair as well.
The horrible thing to think about though, is that CCP may or may not be thinking about suits with multiple grenade slots...
Throw in an ECM mine/grenade/do-dad, ambush, vamp grenades, webifiers= no healing, no red chevrons, can't move ....time to roll logistics :)
oh wait... you thought tanks were nasty?... aah sorry my bad... |
