Ok like the title says. problem is it's really not that much advanced. I figured having to level up my abilities to use an "Advanced" weapon would yield an "Advanced" quality especially since it's 17K+ ISK for Desired usage there of. My leveling did more than the gun did. I really didnt and dont feel any real impact from having added it to one of my dropsuit config's.
the upgrade after spending 500k+ in SP to be able to use something you should feel satisfied and accomplished. I feel that well i guess i just keep using the default Loadouts . Sure i'll use the stock i already purchased for testing of each gun but wont waste ISK on them again.
I was really hoping it was going to be a oh yeah now i can't wait to see what proto is like. now i'm like well i'll buy a couple just to see but not really feeling hyped about it.
I really think there should be a step there that you feel . I'm hoping it's better with the Dropsuits

there should be better accuracy or range or damage something that makes you feel you now have a better gun.
am i the only one that feels this way about it? |

the advanced AR does 10% more damge per shot than the standard, the prototype does 20% more damage per shot than the standard,
They are also slightly more accurate.
Its up to you whether thats worth the isk investment. |

i know the stats say that and perhaps it really does. I just didnt feel the Advanced weapon is worth the ISK due to the marginal improvement
when i think Basic it's this will work
when I think Advanced it's this is my boomstick
when i think Prototype it's this shouldn't be legal
now those were extreme jumps to make the point that there should be a reason to use it. the rise from one to the other should be noticable and maybe something that takes a little geting used to. not so insignificant that its just a title and $0.10 an hour raise |

with it being my first skill that has gotten me advanced gear it makes me wonder whether any of the rest of the items are worth the ISK for advanced
i will wait till i have made it to LVL 5 for Prototype before i pass my judgement and maybe i'll feel better about it then. but sofar advanced weapons seem like a bust for me |

or maybe there should be only a small change between advanced and Prototype because they are at the top of the tech spectrum.
but the way you get people interested is to make the thing something they want, need, feel they can't live with out it. like MW3 when you finally got to use the AK47, ACR, PP90M, or Mp7. you felt like you arrived at a lvl that would make a diffrence.
I didn't feel it when i used the advanced assault rifle and with there being only 3 Lvl's there should be a noticeable change |

So you want a weapon that's a "I win" button? Remember that on top of everything you have other skills and weapon mods to add to that 20% damage increase to standard.
I'm glad militia gear can still kill a full proto kit soldier. |

Different skins would be an improvement also different sights proto stuff is better but not so much as to make it to op, the main improvement would be fro hit detection to get some seriuos work put into it so as you can see the improvement. |

All i'm saying is i dont feel the difference in the guns when i'm on the battle field
i even started a new character to see if i was mistaken.
i'm not asking for an I win button but i should feel superior with a superior weapon should i not
i too like that i can kill just about anyone with the starter Dropsuit loadouts
and that is also my complaint that it doesnt seem that much of an improvement for me to spend the money
i bought 20 of each and tried them out (dont really like the breach or tactical as much just personal preference) well i keep going back to starter because i dont feel like wasting my money. I would like more than a shinier gun
and maybe it is the hit detection. i hope it is
as it all stands tho. I dont feel the guns are fine . I dont want an ez mode . i would like to feel rewarded for my time and efforts
like when i added a hacking mod i could see the difference. and felt it was an improvement therefore i keep it added on one of my loadouts for the skirmish matches
so hopefully it is the hit detection thats the culprit and the advanced and prototype stuff will be worth the ISK but today it is not |

ok having thought about it more. maybe it's not the guns and maybe the guns themselves are fine. if that is the case then i think the price are too high for what is offered
i have noticed that i make more ISK in the past couple days and that has helped with supplying my dropsuits but to make the dropsuit the way i want i can only use it 3 times a match before it becomes a money pit maybe 4 and living aint easy these days with all the tanks and arial support thats been happening
i still dont feel the advanced AR gives me enough of an edge for the money. just my opinion |

I know what you mean but you probably skipped right to the gun, without spending SP on other abilities? 20% of militia variants is a huge bonus. Now if you spread your skills out instead, or even spent more SP on mods and equipment that increase the effectiveness on the weapon - then you'd see a huge improvement.
I mean, add skills that add 5% Damage, and 10%. when maxed out. Add weapon modules that give 10% for the prototype. That's a HUGE bonus overall. + the weapon specialization skills. You have a HUGE bonus over some new character.
So remember, you can't take a giant leap up a stair case - it's the small steps one at a time that will allow you to finally reach the top. I bet if you specced into damage completely with high end everything than switched back to a new character in militia gear you'd feel a HUGE DIFFERENCE.
PS! Sorry about all the HUGE statements. haha. But I'm to lazy to change it. Thanks! The difference is HUGE! |
