So I have been playing this game since the first round of beta codes went out to EVE players. I have been an EVE player since '08, I only say this to give added validity to my statement. I have more or less enjoyed the beta (with it's numerous faults because I have caught the vision of what this game has the potential to be. I even bought a merc pack. I really do love CCP, but as of tonight.... the game has become broken to the point that I don't want to play anymore, at least until it is fixed. The corp battles changed the paradigm in the game. The incentive to win got a lot of people to pull out all of the stops and actually spend isk in large amounts, not caring if they lose money as long as they win. Tanks became not only commonplace, but it became abundantly clear that there have been heavy nerfs to av . This opened pandora's box, and players realized that short of someone speced into protoforge or proto swarm, and they lived long enough to get the required number of shots off, and you had a resupply depot or nanohive available (cause it can take more than the amount of shots in the gun) ... tanks were immortal killing machines only killable from another tank. Now, every game I join has 6-8 tanks in it and even if I get into my forge gunner suit and start to try to do something about it, I get one-shotted before I can take one of them out I used to have a forge gun build called tank buster, and that is all it really did... and that was ok. It took a few shots but tanks feared (as they should) a forge gun but as for killing infantry, not so much. If infantry died it was because they stood still and didn't kill me in the time it took me to charge my gun. It was balanced because all it took was the tank to run or infantry to attack me and I was in trouble, now a tier 1 assault forge gun does considerably less damage than a militia swarm launcher. I hope CCP fixes this soon because I am willing to bet that the average gamer, who has yet catch the vision of the future, will give the game a second chance. |

.... on the plus side, I really enjoyed the no holds barred corp battles today. I actually got to fight with the EU and US, and it was pretty bad ass to see both sides fielding the best they can afford in order to win. It had a completely different feel than just a normal game. There was an urgency and stress level that you normally only get in battlefield except more so because losing means you may lose your chance at the prize and the isk you spent was wasted. |

that almost makes sense, because if we have sweet sensors, they have sweet abilities to counter sensors, if you don't hear the tank behind you... you kinda deserve it. That is the reason squads are becoming more and more important
