Spoken by someone who never wants to play as one.....
There is way too much ammo. Reduce everyones intial supply,,, leaving us reliant on Logi's to restock us....
They get points, we get ammo..... we all HAVE to play as a team,,, then they can also revive us etc etc.... happy days right?? |

I agree, especially for crap players like me, I've tried to just keep blasting away with my weapon and trying to avoid being killed. It's really hard to waste all my ammo before dieing. It would help keep playing as a team and might even convince some people to defend a position, like an objective |

Lol,,, well yes I would agree with you on that (of course with that logic i would question why there is still infantry warfare in the future... simply because of the unreliant nature of squishy things)
I wasn't suggesting this based on futuristic reality (which i agree is important in the game)....
but more working within the mechanics of the 'MMO' part of the game.... ie people playing different roles etc...
Currently the Logi's can repair armour (for very little WP,, and no ability to deal with shields which is where the majority of damage is done),,, revive (glitchy and near impossible when troops run out and get mown down in the open),,, and re-supply which noone really ever needs (except for grenade spamming)
For it to be a serious role to spec into,, I think everyone understands the need for tweeks to be made to make it more appealing and rewarding for players.... And i was merely suggesting this as one of a series of measures which would not only help the Logi's,, but also help encourage grouping as squads |

Like more points. Or being the only Class to able to use Electronic Warfare. |

It seems like we're still missing quite a few pieces of the puzzle here. Here's a few things that might make Logi better.
>Fabrication : The current Logistics Suit is described as having a tricorder-like scanner (the "eyepatch" I assume), and pockets filled with tools to deal with just about any situation. Why can't we use these? By dismantling ammo or an installation, the suit could create a variety of useful things, from cover to turrets and even drones.
>Stasis Webs : half of "logistics" is denying the enemy of a logistical advantage. Slowing them down is a good way to do it.
>A bona fide logi-focused weapon : We need a gun that's just as adaptable as the suit. A specialized shotgun (target-shooting type) or a DMR-type weapon would be useful in many situations, like the dropsuit itself.
>Linked Cloaking : Odd concept, yet simple. "Firing" this module at an allied scout suit would cause the scout cloak (Soon-TM) to cloak you as well. Very useful for supporting an extended infiltration maneuver.
The idea here is to make the suit a Swiss-Army Knife, able to support anybody or even go "survivalist" for some streches. |

You still run out of ammo relatively quickly. Nano hives are still very, very useful to have someone carrying. I do not get the impression logistics is such a undervalued role right now. And, rather than nerfing ammo, how about as an alternative adding equipment that a solo assault player might want to use, aside from nano hives?
So, for example, if assault players had an equipment or two which is designed to enhance the ability of the player using it, but provides no benefit to team mates, then dedicated logistics players might be more valued. Something like... grenade bandoliers, extra magazines. Or how about enhanced targeting optics, to slightly reduce bullet spread?
This way you could give dedicated assault players something to fill their equipment slot that they really want, which in turn would make a support player with a nanite injector, nano hive, etc more valuable, simply because support gear amongst infantry would be more rare. |

At op, I eat though ammo and commonly use more than is provided, but I can understand where your comming from on this so I could see a 15 to 20% drop in ammo to accommodate logi more.

No, nothing should be restricted to a certain suit. |

I was thinking something along the lines of an item that would provide a bonus to shield regeneration within some radius of the person carrying it (20 meters, maybe?). That would provide an incentive for squads to stick together and allow the Logi to be helpful before someone's shields get depleted all the way. |

Anyone can carry a nano hive, and it's very common for people to do so. This isn't specifically a logistics issue.
Repair tools are generally only used by logistics, along with nanite injectors for some reason. |

It was stated in an interview that logi will be the go to class for orbital attacks. It was said that a scout suit could also get there but that the logi suit would make things a lot easier. I think it will have its perks, just not yet fully. |

I think the suit should offer more bonus on their specialised area, just like ship in Eve give bonus to specific thing which make them "assault" or "logi". Because let's face hard fact there, some scout could have nanite injector and fulfil the role of a medic just as well. Suit should just make it easier and better. I see dropsuit like ship. Not a lot restrict stuff to it, but some have the edge on certain field. I play almost exclusively logi in almost every game I play, Dust is no different than all of them in a point. If you look at the leaderboard you will NEVER see a pure logi there that fulfill is role. You could have saved everybody at least twice in a game and hacked everything, you will be almost last in the board, because you killed maybe 1 or 2 people but died 7 times. Board should rely on point, not on kill. If you kill 36 person you will have the point to go to the top anyway. But it is extremely frustrating for any logi to look at the end of the game, you did everything you could and saved a lot of people and was maybe super useful, but you are the last of your team.

Would be nice to nerf ammo amounts a little bit, and maybe a logi suit bonus (5% bonus to total ammo available) RIght now whenever i end up defending a point with a few other people nanohives seem to get spammed everywhere, and it feels like it isn't worth taking if every assault can carry one. |
