Is it just my opinion or are people more likely to get Av weapons out when a dropship is flying around? When i see a tank dominationg the battlefield every 1 is scared and doesnt use AV weapons. Its allways like i personally think they have a mental checklist like this: Use of av weapons: -dropship inbound: yes allways (selecting heavy-shock) -LAV inbound: maybe depends if i can hit it with AV grenades and if i have AV grenades on my fit -HAV inbound: GTFO i hide behind a rock and try to survive or im acting stupid and try to kill it with my assault rifle
Im serious about this cause i allmost never see a dropship last longer as for 2 mins at max except it flys at full speed around the map to evade the 9001 swarms behind it (you see what i did there). Saw a pretty buffed up myron flying around on the map with the spikes and my team was with like 6 people sitting around the supply depot to shot it down. I myself thought then: this is a waste of time so i pick my forgegun out and kept shoting it when it came past our position. Destroyed it and every 1 then changed back to their normal weapon again. So whats your opinion about this? |

I think right now its because so many pilots are getting used to the new DS controls they're considered easy points. Which is funny because when a decent pilot keeps dodging the rounds so many people on the opposing side switch to militia heavies they aren't paying attention to the match and end up losing. |

Dropships are gigantic flying easy-to-hit targets. When they're in the air there's no hill to hide behind and everyone can see it. Why not go for the easy kill? These things can be taken down by a single blind and deaf monkey with a militia swarm launcher firing 180 degress from the direction of the dropship.
As for HAV's, these things are meant to take a bit of a beating and require a bit of *gasp* TEAMWORK to bring down. Since everyone lonewolfs' or just follows the blob of AR's and refuses to get on mics (btw, for those "I DUN GIT AWN MIK CUZ NO MEWT BUTN", we have one now), it's more "profitable" WP-wise to just keep killing infantry than to go after a tank with a few buds. |

the thing is the enemy pilot was good but not good enough to dodge forgegun rounds. And we won the match aswell. |

Risk Reward. What do I risk shooting at a dropship? He can't hurt me without gunners, so absolutely nothing, and he dies fast enough. What do I risk shooting at an HAV? He can murder me as soon as look at me, and he takes forever to kill for the same point value as a dropship or LAV. Plus he can dodge behind a spire.
It isn't sound in ANY way to shoot an HAV unless you have literally no choice. |

Dropships are wicked easy targets, especially now that swarms cause them to rock like crazy. You need to hold still to provide a good platform for your gunners, yet you need to be moving at top speed and always going low to try and dodge swarm launchers >_<
HAV's take a stupid amount of punishment, move very fast, can break LoS very easy, and are a lot easier to hop out and repair (no idiotic landing bs) I've stopped trying to kill HAVs all together, it's more useful to just keep killing infantry than to spend half the match trying to take down a single target. |

Really the same point value for killing HAV vs LAV?? That's just wrong the incentive should match the investment. As for killing infantry it should also scale with dropsuits and equipment used, killing militia guys with proto gear low reward, killing proto with militia gear high reward |
