You can not add a bounty to Dust mercs even though the option is there in the context menu.
Hmmmm this got me wondering what happens to our assets if we get a visit from a hit squad?? Will it be a hit squad spawning in a battle or a quiet kind of visit at a Station??
And will EVE folks post bounties on other EVE folks or other Dust Mercs?? Interesting is all I can say. |

The question really is, what would be the penalty towards the victim?
In EVE podding someone with a bounty not only nets the assassin a bounty payout but also has penalties for the victim, their ship loss and potential SP loss and definite loss of a clone.
So for our immortal mercs who don't need to have clones paid for that can hold our SP where is the threat? Simply losing a load out isn't a big deal since we already lose numerous ones in battles. So where is the punishments for getting killed in such a manner? |

Clones are clones after all but what if we had a lot of black ops Officer edition HAVs as salvage and a single hit/steal leaves us at zero assets??
A single one of those officer edition items is worth hundreds of millions of isk so saying bye bye to that is going to be stressfull. |

EVE players can already put bounties on other EVE players. It's a very incomplete system. |

You keep your stuff, the system lets you put a reward on killing someones clone. So the next person to kill the merc gets bonus isk, somebody that is tired of being spawn camped by a player can put bounty on them for example. A high bounty could get them team killed for the bounty. Not a real useful feature, but it's been in EvE a long time and fits setting well. |

As i stated before i have played eve for nearly 9 years, i lose my first battleship, which cost me 150m back in the day, 30 min after having it. Lost my first carrier 1.8B that Billion with a b, in a week after having it. So yea its stressful, and it sucks, but the rush you get is so awesome you come back more. |

What's this? Bounty? Oh ****! I need to take the name, Boba Fett, asap! like months ago! No one messed with the, Fett!
No, but seriously what is this bounty you speak of? I would not mind being a bounty hunter, or whatever making side deals and contracts to take out serious opposition. I just feel bad for those in the top ten (with no lives outside of Dust514) whom will surely be the target of much hate, and large sums of money to annoy. Well if they can even do that. Ha-ha. I get the feeling if this is allowed, that the top ten will be laughs out of it for a short time.
I can see it now.. Some twisted Mexican standoff. |

Not real usefull unless they are fielding a fully fitted MCC at one billion ISK and then they get team killed in a Corp match.
I can think of three really twisted scenarios involving hated Dust clones and lost MCC/bases/installations. |

bounties in eve are kind of a joke.. most ppl put them on themselves so when you bring up there profile there's a big red WANTED across there portrait and it kinda makes some people nervous or w/e.. |

If someone puts a twenty billion isk bounty on a player then I think its going to make a few dusties consider it for a few seconds.

bountys? lol good luck with that i roll way to many times my heavy with a HMG. It needs a full squad to take me out. And i rarely roll out alone grouping ftw. After all that 4.22 KD speaks for itself. More like:" oh i heard you accepted a bounty on me, lets see if my HMG can change your opinion about that" You bring your tank to kill me? I bring my tank out and put you back on the respawn timer. Havent lost a tank yet in a 1vs1 tank fight. And i think people start to recognise me in matches. Probs they know brining a tank against me is not a smart idea. |

Well I can imagine the bounties would be like: Affect the bounty target ISK through kills. Like a bounty on our tank friends that would net at a required total isk loss of 2 Mill ISK to really affect them. To contribute to the ISK loss you would need to kill his super tank two times I guess. Then they payout could be based on the isk damage contribution. |

the whole point of putting a contract on a merc, is that you want them dead.
If you find yourself with a hit on your head... and when friendly fire makes its entrance(oh yes please!!!) ... you might want to rethink joining random matches... |

I think the bounty thing is a bit of an atavistic holdover from EVE. Bounty system is rather screwy/poory implemented/broken in EVE. No reason for it to exist in DUST, although, as stated, it could make for some interesting times when friendly fire gets turned on, in pub matches if nothing else.
Otherwise it will be just like in EVE, when the bounty gets high enough, you get your buddy to pod you and you split the bounty. |
