calling in RDVs in the middle of building complexes, or any other part of the map where it is crowded and cluttered. I get a laugh out of all the vehicles stranded on top of shipping containers, spire like rock formations and so on. Though it kind of reminds me of some surreal post apocalyptic film sequence. Especially when I have on the fat suit and am sort of trudging past in slow mo watching a bunch of LAVs slowly rocking back and forth on top of some stuff...
But seriously. Find a field, or other open area, away from other people, or slopes of any kind, and call your vehicle in there. It will save everyone a lot of hassle. |

We're doing it to place a defend order on. Simple as that. Can't turn down 125 pts a kill + squad leader 75 iirc. |

That's smart. I even suggested that in a thread somewhere. If I see an LAV next to an objective I do my best to either destroy it or ignore it.
Yeah, I meant more like the really lonely spots on the map or right at the beginning when people spawn in and start spamming RDVs.

I got you. It does feel like you have to spam your LAV out right at the beginning in order to reach one before the team cap is reached. But, if i am getting a LAV at the start of a map, I always try to run into an open area by myself or with my squad first. Something they could do that could help (not solve) the problem is add one more seat to the LAV so squads of 4 don't have to call in 2 in order to travel together. Or at least have one player in each squad master LAV surfing like Teen Wolf. |

I call-in RDV anywhere, hide it, place a fragmented order, defend it. Put a nanohives. Call in your teammates.
By doing this, you get more SP, ISK, warpoints, bombardments. Yay! |

I manage to call in 3 times in a row. |

My top is 6 orbitals in one match. It works VERY well with a great squad. |

So what do you do, sit around the truck? Or does it give you bonus points wherever you are? |

I believe if you guys stick together and defend an area, you'll get the incentive warpoints. I think CCP encourages players to group up and fight as a squad.

It's got a very long range around the LAV, on the small biomass ambush map you can basically go anywhere within the facility if you put it just outside the walls. That's probably close to max proximity range. |

Just put the defend order on the truck, then defend it. The enemies will usually come. Better yet, if you have enough skill points or ISK, call in HAV, then defend it while it moves around.

That can't be intentional, at least not that kind of range |

Will this work on another teammates' HAV when I'm leader? |

Well finally got into a battle tonight, things were going well, we were hacking points and making progress.
Player on my team called in an LAV to the biomass installation right after a successful hack of C. Not onto a road, but right by the objective. I thought they might tag it, but they got in, drove it back and forth into a couple of walls, and right as I was running over man the LAV turret they ran me over, that is, pushed my character out from behind cover into crossfire, I was slaughtered, the LAV driver got stuck on a barrier, and the opposing team blew up the LAV with a grenade.
We did not get even one orbital strike. |
