Okay I want to start by stating that the skill point acquisition rate is fine as it stands now, but I want this game to be more. By which I mean "harder" then it is now. I've been thinking how to do this, and I found a good way to do that. Granted most people will complain, and moan about the grind. I'll admit this. Especially given this generation of "easy" mode gaming. What I propose is that you amend and remodify the skill point multiplier(s) in-game on the skill sheet. I'd start by increasing all base skill multipliers by one or two. From there what I propose you implement is a negative skill multiplier which will increase the other skill base and/or multiplier higher every time you level up another skill.
Example: Say I level up my drop suit command skill, and then start a new skill in which I had no skill points invested in before. By leveling this new skill up it results in an increasing of the sum base total of skill points needed to level up my other skills, or increases the multiplier itself. This way you extend the life of the game, and weed out the weak. Nothing major, but increasing in small incraments will have impact on the game. Though to do it properly what I would do is set it to where leveling skills outside my character's "class" results in an increase. Granted this is all a rough compilation, but the base of what I wanted to request, and suggest is viable. |

This is assuming there is a need for the skilling up aspect of the game to be longer. CCP stated their estimate is that, with how many skills they'll have at release, it'll take people 7 years to max out. And of course new skills will be added as new features/vehicles/etc are added.
So this may be unnecessary. It is also fairly convoluted. |

Yeah um EVE has never been called "easy mode" gaming and Dust is following closely in EVE's foot steps. Of all the things CCP needs help with this isn't one of them. |

I know what they stated, but the truth is this game is going to easy on people. Especially in terms of the skill tree. The fact that you stated that my suggestion was "twisted" is true. Why should this be easy? Grind is a good way to rid the weak, and impatient instant gratification losers bogging this industry down. All the two of you did was state what I know. Which is why I suggest they up the difficulty and increase the -- risk & reward -- this games needs more of. |

I don't think this game will seem "too easy" with respect to the skill tree once all the initial skills are rolled out. We're looking at a pretty simplistic subset of the full skill tree right now. |
