Hi
So i'm new at this. I have a ps3 and have the closed beta thanks to playstation plus. I also bought the mercanary pack. I start the game up, make an soldier and then i go to the screen where I am in the merc quarters i think. There I should be able to acces neocom by pressing start or the chat. But here is the problem, nothing happens when i push the buttons.. How do i play the game then?
I'm overlooking something? Thanks for the help! |

If your in your merc quarters and you hit 'start' it should open a menu on the left side of your screen. Top one should be 'find battle' or something to that affect, selecting it will open a menu to the right of the left menu and the top option will be "instant battle" or w/e. Select that one.
If you don't get any of that try restarting the game if you haven't already. Maybe you hit a bug. |

Try pressing the left R2 or R1 buttons. They should open up the Neocom. Although I can't see why Start isn't working for you. If nothing else, just walk up to the holograms and choose what you want in the Merc Quarters. |

Start button should allow you to access "Instant Battle" at which point you will hopefully be taken to staging screen or dropped into a battle. Once the battle starts (or you enter it), you will be asked to pick a load out . Chose a soldier type and start shooting. You can build your own, but just try some of the defaults first to get a feel for the game. No doubt, you will die a lot a first - there are a lot of good players here, but after some time, if you enjoy the game, you will get good. Keep your head down - don't stay in one place for too long and always run when you can.
Good luck!

Hmm doesn't work. I can't walk? I'm just seeing a planet en ships. Maybe it is a bug. I'm gonna try reinstalling it. I'll let you know.
Thanks for the quick response guys. |

Don't reinstall yet ... There is a bug that stalls you in the battle initializing screen.
Have you tried just rebooting the console ?
Edited : just realised you're not that far in, sounds like you're just past character creation and the screen should be saying press start with the ships flying down to the planet surface. I think you may be right, it could be a corrupt install if you can't get past that. HHave you tried rebooting and loading again ? |

Yeah tried that many times. It is just after i choose my created avatar/soldier. (After the press start menu). Then i get a 'help pop-up explaining the neocom and chat function. I press 'ok' and then i'm just seening a planet and some ships. Start and select button and 4 logo's on the right. But nothing happend when i pressed any button on my controller. |

Edited above, but yeah think you may have a corrupt install there, sounds like it's trying to load the station quarters but failing, giveIt a go deleting and reinstalling, if you're still stuck email [email protected] and they'll look into. Usually get a quick response especially if you put can't log in as the subject. |

Off to bed shortly, hope you get sorted soon (tm)
A quick heads up for you once you're in ...
Militia stuff is infinite use, apart from HAVs and dropships, everything else you buy 1 and it lasts till you die so stock a few.
To begin with, buy some of the militia stuff and create your own fittings, the starter ones aren't great and you can't remove the yellow modules to free up resources to fit it differently, so first few games buy the militia dropsuit and weapon of your choice, armor repairers are good cos armor doesn't regenerate like shields and put those on, then see how much cpu and pg you have left for other stuff like sidearms, shield modules, damage modules, grenades etc. As long as you're fitting the blue items to the militia suit then it will be an infinite stock suit and not cost you anything when you die.
Read some of the skills descriptions and spend some points into mechanics or shield skills and weapon skills including the sharpshooter skills as these give you extra range to anything in that weapon slot and weaponry skill gives you extra damage to all weapons.
RUN AWAY AND HIDE FROM TANKS for now, later invest points into some AV grenades or swarm launcher or forge gun and create a new fitting as an anti vehicle suit, for when the tanks start rolling round.
That should get you started, have fun n look me up in game if you're stuck or not sure about anything, also local chat might find some helpful people.

The merc pack has something to do with the bug. For me it is. I decided to buy the merc to get the bonuses that they offer. Now, I get more infinite loading screen, infinite invalid, etc. haaayz. |
