...there are some things that I don't understand just yet.
First of all, "Hi all"! Im new to the forum and just started playing Dust 514 b+¿ta. I like the game so far and thinking of playing the full version when it's out as well. Though, I'm missing the 'MMO feeling' a bit. Hope that'll come as it'll progress. However, I have some questions and I hope someone can answer them.
- What is the StarMap about? I can brows diferent galaxies, but no idea what I can do with it.
- How does the level-system work? Do you progress in level with XP? How can you easily manage the skill-levels?
- Where is the inventory? Have some skill books off the market, but can't find them anywhere and thus I can't use them.
- Is there another way to obtain AUR credits, besides buying them from the PSN Store?
- I bought another gun, but cant equip it yet. Seems I lack in CPU skill. How can those skills for weapon use, be upgraded?
Also, since Dust 514 is connected with EVE Online somehow, I started playing EVE as well (14-day trial). How does Dust 514 connect to EVE Online, and what do players experience with this connection? (not sure if this is the right way to ask, but I wonder what EVE players will experience from the Dust 514 players, and vice versa) |

Starmap - I think it's going to be a easy access to port yourself from planet to planet.
Level system - you earn ISK, you buy the skill book for a certain skill, then you upgrade it using your skill points.
Where's the inventory - once you bought the skill book, you'll see it on your skill tree, upgrade them with your skill points. If I were you, determine what kind of skill you are going to use it for. If you want a certain gun, look up the pre-reqs, that should explain you how to manage your skill points and ISK.
AUR items - they can be bought on the black market with ISK, but it's unavailable at this time. People who purchase AUR item can be sold with ISK
CPU/PGU - The better dropsuit, the better CPU/PGU.

The MMO part will come when we as mercs can take over the planets ( this is one way it interacts with eve) the star map will be more useful when we can choose regions to fight in but currently cant do this there are no levels on skill points (XP) go to the skills page on the character sheet and there is a list of all the skills there is an assets tab under the market section here are your skill books, but you can use them in the above mentioned skills section no you cannot buy AUR credits, but when the player market kicks in you will be able to buy AUR items with isk train the skill electronics this will increase your CPU
and not everything has been announced about how it will interact but the main parts are: eve corps hire mercs to fight on planets, eve players can bomb dust mers and the mercs can fire back, integrated chat channels and lots more

Star Map - This is the new eden galaxy you can move from station to station from here when the system goes wide as well as look at conquest information, travel advisories, jump lines, ships destroyed and much more information, You can possibly look for hotspot contracts from here as well.
Level System - Skill points are earned though passive (over time) and active means, you can spend them in the character sheet on various skills that improves your performance. I suggest holding off on spending until you find something you want to work for, if you feel implied you MUST spend I suggest SP dumping into mechanics first that will increase your HP, then Enginerring and Electronics this will make things easier to fit once you decied on a speciality. Read all the books destrictiptions to further formulate your skill plans.
Inventory in this game is called assests you can view it in the market place catagory in your neocom.
AUR items are not for sale by players yet, once player selling is inable aur items will be purchasable via isk.
Electornics skills increases the avialable CPU you have, Weapon Upgrade (weight) will reduce the CPU needs of weapons.
As for Dust 514 and Eve connection - There are going to be alot of white board but ultimately one day the eve players will be hiring dust players to take over planets so that Eve players can exploit the planets resources and in turn make money to payt he dust 514 guys. In the far future we're talking near full intergration where the only thing seperating the two players is the battlefields they play on. IE manufacturing empire building researching corporate polotiks allainces and the sorts. |

Welcome to the galaxy, and good to see someone new getting to the forums early looking for answers.
*Starmap will come into play later on
*No level system its skill based....take objectives, get kills, dont die[too often], work as a team...and those SP[skill points you earn at the end of each match] will grow
-Inventory is your Fittings and your Assests[Marketplace sub tab], which later we will be able to sell Dont buy the skill books from the Marketplace, find the skill you want under your Skills tab, buy it from there and then use it from there[long as the Skill isnt check marked red...cause then your not ready for it]
-No AUR is real money, least till later on when player sales take over l assume
-There are several skills and items that lower CPU requirements[weapon skills, Electronic Upgrade, CPU models for Dropsuits
Good luck and have fun.

A) Don't purchase Skill Books in the market, purchase them as needed through the character skill sheet.\
B) Go to the market and then to Militia Gear, purchase 1 of everything for militia gear (not vehicle stuff)
C) If there is a red 'X' next to something in the market, you do not have the skills required to use that item. You can hit triangle and R2 to see what skills are required.
D) Hit start and go to fitting to create custom suits |
