I was wondering if anyone knew if there was an advantage or if certain races were more fitting to roles?

in EVE there are racial tendencies toward certain technologies. EG: Caldari use shields and missiles, Amarr use lasers and armor. It goes deeper than this, like each race has a racial ewar that some ships gain bonuses for. There are lots of ships that cross the line though, especially in the tech 2 lineups. Read up a little on EVE races and you'll get a feel for it. Right now there's only one race per dropsuit available so there's no real choice. And like in EVE you can always crosstrain. If you start out training up an Amarr tank with a laser on it but later decide you want to drive gallente, the armor tanking skills are probably still very applicable, though you'd probably have to retrain for hybrid weapons. But who knows what the final skill trees will look like in Dust when they add more racial suits/vehicles variations. |

In Eve and Dust the race of your character does not grant anything extra, and at the moment there doesn't seem to be any intrinsic bonuses with certain vehicles or dropsuits (other than the Logistics suit, which gets a hacking speed bonus).
There are racial themes to the various technology portrayed in the game but it's not restrictive to how it can it used - it's favor only and you are free to mix and match as you please. |

Also, depending on you're race, the skill books cost either 1 000 000 ISK or only 250 000 ISK, for you're particular race. |
