Sights: The sniper rifle zoom has to have either a second zoom in or increase the original zoom as at the moment it is far too close and does not feel like you are using a sniper. More of a assault rifle with a smaller magazine than a sniper.
Hit detection: It seems like the bullet goes in a straight line yet shooting someones head while they are completely stationary sometimes does not hit them. If i put that sight on someones head and they are not moving then it should hit the persons head 100%
Enemy Placement: This is BIG for me. I am in a scout dropsuit so i should in effect be able to see an orange arrow above the enemy players. Someone with an Assault/Heavy/Logistics dropsuit should NOT!! That completely ruins the point in being a sniper and results in anyone being able to see you across the other side of the map. NOTE: Only if the orange "IM OVER HERE" arrows stay in the game.
Prone: This has to be in the game, be it for wielders of a sniper rifle only or for all.
The whole point in being a scout/sniper is to be able to deal a large amount of damage over a large distance, calling out positions and what not and also not being seen.
With the way snipers are just now, the zoom offers too little zoom to kill at a large distance, the orange "IM HERE" arrows gives you no reason to give out any positions as everyone already sees them and not being able to go prone hinders the ability to not being seen.

putting points into Dropsuit Command will reduce how easy it is to both see your "red marker" and how long this marker will point you out when no one can see you.
I'd love for some of the rifles to have an extra zoom even if i had to put a module or equip in for it.
Prone would just make it harder to clear out snipers, This character is a sniper, and though there are times when i wish i could go prone...just to see under that damn handrail... having snipers go prone would make it even harder to see other snipers, many of whom don't show up with red markers over their head at certain times....
Sniping DUST at this point seems to have large chunks of time dedicated to watching your ass.. which is as it should be i think.
all this...IMHO |

Thanks for the Dropsuit Command tip, that will help a lot.
Prone is good for 2 things, it makes it easier to stay hidden and also steadies your gun and recoil more than crouching.
The red markers over your head should be a scout dropsuit exclusive imho as it would help the scout class. At the moment it feels like i have easy mode activated being able to see where people are.
Speaking of clearing out snipers, you would never need to do this if you had an efficient sniper. When i am covering a large amount of enemies, if you are not moving your heads gone. I'm constantly telling team-mates how many enemies are nearby and also if reinforcements are incoming whilst picking off any snipers that are firing on my team.

A scout only thing? Why, it wouldn't make much since the scout isn't made for a technological advantage. It's already harder to seem and shoot than other suits

I'm constantly telling team-mates how many enemies are nearby and also if reinforcements are incoming whilst picking off any snipers that are firing on my team. as much as you think you are clearing out enemies, if there is another sniper out there, they will see your sniper rifle kills and know you are there,, they will actively look for you... i know i do. if you are the only sniper on the other team, I might ignore you on my assault, but my heavy will switch to scout and my scout will try to weed you out.... my heavy doesnt move fast enough to make it hard to hit him.
as far as prone goes, in this game, the only advantage it offers is to make it harder to see you. Our Drop suits already steady our shots, as you would have noticed, crouching will completely steady your aim a few seconds after going to scope or moving.
I don't mind prone, but i really don't believe its needed. Snipers can already camp out so far from the action that you can't spot them unless someone gets near them, or they move faster then running speed. I've clocked up a few kills now that would've almost been a kilometre away, mercs from that distance can't usually be seen, you have to aim using their red marker, they have no chance of knowing where the shot really came from. |

Snipers are quite strong anti-infantry and area denial forces in this game already. If you want to sit on your perch all match and never be seen you should refrain from shooting.
And as Song Soulfire said you can even aim at the markers as sniper have the ONLY infantry weapon that has infinite range. |

No delete button for threads? Always get some BS opinion from someone who couldnt care less about specific roles etc.
Whats the point in calling anything scout if you cannot even scout out enemies. Waste of time trying to talk to people. |

??? you CAN scout people. You can even see their dropsuit type. shield amount etc. What you can't be is an invisible angel of death. You actually gotta hide and reduce your signature by skill or crouching. |

The game isn't about specific roles. In fact, the scout suit is kind of **** for sniping with. Certainly as far as militia suits go the scout suit is about the worst for sniping. So trying to redo entire game systems for the sake of making the scout suit have certain abilities like you've described isn't a good approach. What'd be better is to make scouting/avoiding detection largely up to modules you can equip any suit with. Which is what they're doing. |

someone wants to be invincible sniper..... you gotta let a slight chance to others to kill you or the advantage would be unfair in your favor. how to avoid the orange marker above your head? move. don't stay in the same position all the time, get a kill and go to another sniping spot, circle the map |

i use a logi or assault suit for sniping my assault sniper can take a beating long enough for me to get out of my spot, my logi can drop uplinks and nanos and rain death from above, the scout to squishy for me. |
