Who here loves CCP? I know I do. Instead of another thread about all the problems everyone is having, why not have a thread about how much we love CCP to show them some support!
Step by step baby and soon Dust will be polished up and amazing!
Freakin Love you CCP!

Could have told you right off the bat that you were unlikely to get any posts on a thread like this. I personally agree with you, but everyone's focus is on other things right now. |

I like CCP. I just think right now they need to get their **** in order and fix the current problems, as oppose to adding new stuff to the game. |

The problem I have is the lack of patience by less than intelligent posters on this forum. Patches take time and going thru psn takes time also. I think ccp is doing an admirable job despite the obstacles in their way. Patience is the solution to many peoples troubles. |

They did. E3 build fixed all of the freezing problems that were in the build before that.
Anyone that types something along the lines of "fix the current problems before adding more stuff" is posting in a willfully naive and ignorant manner. Just one of those commonsensical things people repeat that doesn't have any bearing on reality.
They have a production schedule. They actually need to make sure everything that is going to be in game works when the game goes live, free, and public. In "Precursor" the new stuff is a big part of the current problems that people are having. There would have been no way of knowing about those problems or determining the scale of those problems unless the new stuff was added.
There is no reason why they can't continue to build the game that will be released to the public and fix the problems that crop up as they occur. And there is the whole "different people do different things" thing we get reminded about on the forum almost every 3rd thread. Do you tell the "make new stuff" people to go take a few weeks vacation while the "fix problems" people fix problems? The "make stuff" people are getting paid to make stuff. Not fix stuff. They shouldn't have to stop going to work just because there are a few challenges to overcome in order to bring this baby to a reasonably finished state before it goes live.
I love CCP because they are bat guano nuts for even attempting something like this. Hats off. |

It's obvious that most people howling about how broken Dust is and how long CCP is taking to fix problems have no clue about writing and debugging code. Dudes, cut 'em some slack. Consider - patching code isn't as simple as editing a text document. You have to first figure out exactly what part of the code is broken, write the fix, then run it through a dev server to make sure it works as expected and doesn't break something else (and document all your changes) before loading the fix into Sisi. I have plenty of appreciation (love) for the folks working for CCP to get this job done. |

To get things straightened out, this game is alot more representative of an Alpha testing ground more than an actual Beta at this point. Half of the features aren't even accessible to test! Core gameplay fundamentals aren't exactly up to snuff at this point. The game still hard crashes and freezes every now and then. All aforementioned things are definitely reminiscent of an Alpha build. |

damn it, you win. ;) Trying to make the guys over at CCP feel more loved. My love for them still stands though. Understanding that it's not easy as we think it is. Im sure they are putting all the effort to making this game work. They have a plan to follow, even though I might not agree with their methods but thats CCP for you. |

Beta testing is all about ironing out some mildly medium to small gameplay mechanics and features here and there, nothing major. Having some major client/server issues are not representative of a beta. |

Depends on the company. There really is no hard and fast rule. Yes, you can send me a link to Wikipedia, if you wish.
But CCP seem to have a unique process that is a lot more collaborative and uses player feedback a lot more than many other companies. I haven't heard of any of the name FPS developers putting together something like a fanfest for their players. Big ad campaigns, yes.
Another thing that is great about CCP is that the seem to devote most of their resources to making games. And they don't have a the "at least one third of what makes a great game great is a successful advertising campaign" philosophy embraced by Activision, etc.
