Because, frankly, I am done testing this game for a while.
This is not because I'm dying a lot, or I think Dust is **** - quite the opposite. Dust is an amazing game so far with some great potential. However, this potential is being hampered by CCP's inability/lack of desire to correct the flaws the game has. In this last week of testing, I have had the pleasure of experiencing "invalid fit" issues, infinite loading, terrible hit detection and hard crashes. I understand this is a beta, and that this is the point of a beta; to find such issues. Ultimately though, these are all game crippling flaws that CCP admittedly is ignoring in favour of adding more features. Thus, I have to ask, in what world does it make sense to ignore the problems that are rendering your beta unplayable IOT add more features that your players will have trouble testing, given the unstable nature of your current build?
My chief complaint is this: CCP, we are acting as what is effectively un-payed QA testers. Everyone taking part in this beta is doing so because they want to try the game and/or want to help with the development phase. From reading this board, you can see that people are reporting three key problems: 1.) Infinite loading when trying to join matches, 2.) Invalid fit errors (which often result in hard crashes) and 3.) hit detection problems rendering gameplay unenjoyable. These are among many other issues, but these cause the most issues. Please fix these issues immediately, as any new game features are moot when the current build is effectively unplayable.
So, back to my first point... Until CCP sees fit to fix these problems - making the game stable and not in danger of damaging my property when it crashes - I see no reason to keep beta testing, as we have done our job, only to be brushed aside and ignored. |

they're not ignoring us it just seems that way because whenever a dev makes a post a bunch of mad ppl attack him so they dont post much |

They've already replied to numerous threads that they'll be releasing a fix for this, but then it's followed by what is now known as the most dreaded word in the English language, SoonGäó. |

SoonGäó scares me, as I am an Eve player and I know what CCP's idea of "soon" can be. |

well, they've been saying they would be fixing these bugs for, what, three builds now? five months? i'm not hopeful.
we'll get lots of new content, half of which is useless due to bad balance, and the bugs will still be there |

CCP Cmdr Wang wrote:Gents,
We are aware that there are issues and bugs that need to be ironed out and should have been. However, we are still implementing new features and this is because of production planning, i.e. the need to keep building C&D after building A&B. We can't stop making new features and fix only bugs at this stage, since we need to keep testing new things that we introduce. That is the true purpose of the Beta.
Having said that, we will of course fix existing issues and bugs, but understand that we have to balance priorities against available resources. We do have a long list of bugs (many reported by beta testers on this very forum) and we are dedicating development time towards fixing them. |

I would be happy to just get rid of the invalid fit bug. That one sucks because it can take a bit to get into a match sometimes then you load up and can't deploy anything. If there is some kinda workaround or trick to prevent that I would appreciate it :) |
