I believe we should test the next build with the removal of the suicide button. I only mention this because I have never been revived... not once. No incentive to load nano injectors when everyone suicides out.
The alternative to the suicide button is an automatic clone re activation after 10 seconds. In accordance with the lore, the transfer of of brain function happens instantaneously.
Thought?

I mainly play in squads, where it's understood that we will all revive each other if we are down. There are a lot of problems with reviving, and players deserve the suicide button to be honest.
I play as a sniper and it makes my day when some overzealous medic goes to revive the person I just killed. I just shoot them down again and I get another kill and they get another death. Not entirely fair, but I would feel really bad about this if I knew that the player didn't have the opportunity to prevent. it. |

Understood, and agree. The one problem I see (I'm approaching this from the business standpoint) is that organized squads will be the minority and not the majority in the PS3 market. I won't say it is fact, but a fair assumption is that most players will jump into a squad and try and mass kills. If this game is aimed at the PS3 market, which is something wholly different from the EVE market, then some mechanics (squad based) will need to be whittled down considerably. One squad mechanic, revival, might need more of an incentive.
Been in a considerable amount of PUGs in the BF series to include 2142. The mechanic in those games worked perfectly, and encouraged PUG squad mechanics.
We need it. |
