How not do overheat your console, leave in a cool, open environment such as ontop of a shelf, not inside a shelf not under a shelf, not in a corner of a shelf, not in a shelf with a back on it, not under a blanket on a shelf, your play station is not going to catch a cold, your play station is not going to get too much air, I'm sure I could go on.
The short of it is the only reason your bricking your Ps3s is because your a idoit or it had a hardware fault, take it back to Sony and ***** it's not technically dust514s fault and in the EULA which also contained the NDA that you probably completely ignored it explained that this is a alpha/beta product and that you use at your own risk.
Whoa, slow down Tex. No one here is bitching that they want a new console, I'm sure evryone looked over the terms and conditions, due to it being a Beta Release. No need to go on a rant, there. It may be that they aren't using their consoles properly, or it may very well be a problem with the console itself. They aren't blaming Dust 514s Beta build, or if they are, they aren't asking for compensation, just a fix. Don't you think the Dev team needs to know if their game is crashing older PS3s? |

But my point still remains that overheating and "Bricking" issues are most commonly caused by people putting their consoles in bizarre places they shouldn't and reducing their air flow to near zero, there is a reason that PS3s have up to 8 inout vents for air, I have crashed, froze, and reset my PS3 like 100 times at least since I got into dust514, and a "friends" split "Boiling Pop/Bong water" or whatever in it, and i soaked it in some rice and the components still work, so it's a durable piece of tech if your not doing dumb things.
So if your having issues with bricking your Ps3 either it's a manufacturing fault which as I said you should take it to sony and complain for a new one (the store usually works too) or it was improperly taken care of, so not so much save us trouble but save yourself some money and stop blaming the game when you should find ways of allowing the hardware the proper ability to operate.
Oh and Xboxs are just screwed and are faulty chemically so don't actually deal with heat as well so their red ring of death is all microsofts fault. Just saying but semi relevent.
Very relavent, however, the point remains, it may still have something to do with the games progamming messing up something in the old Bios or something. Wait... nevermind that the bios is the updateable run files, but anyway, they still need to check and see if it is actually corrupting the fat PS3s, or ask these poor unlucky guys where their PS3s are sitting. My had such a bad overheating problem, that before I got my slim, if I was running any game made after 2010, I had the thing sitting on an A/C vent so it'd stay semi-cooled. Still overheated playing New Vegas, but that's why I got a slim. |
