I like how we can choose to keep communication in either the squad or entire team, but I think to better coordinate plans, there needs to be a channel where squad leaders can talk to each other. Maybe a push to talk feature that lets you talk on an alternate channel.
I have also heard talk of a player that is in the MCC and directs the battle. Is this something we can look forward to? Is that the purpose of the command suit?
I just think game-play is very chaotic right now and better communication is the key to a deeper and more strategic mode of play. |

When in a squad and you join a battle, is there a way to switch the chat from squad only to team? |

I would love to see everyone start out with Team chat active, with the ability to hot key to squad.
It seems like each match starts in squad mode and I can't hear anyone on mics any more. I'm thinking there are some around, but they are in squad mode and not in my squad. |

I think we should be able to listen on team and squad but only talk on one at a time. I think EVE works this way, but I could be wrong.
That way, squad members could talk amongst themselves in the squad, but still hear the team leader, and squad leaders could talk in team chat but be heard by squad members. |

I can't wait to have some brain dead idiot yelling orders at me from his spaceship. Really looking forward to the number of people who have little FPS talent and will be playing an RTS from the safety of their MCC. Fully fitted ofc. No militia stuff for them OH no. I'm sorry but Mr Commander is probably up their because he's useless down on the ground. It is VERY rare to find someone who is not that good at the FPS side but is outstanding in their strategic and tactical know how. Contrabanjoe is probably the only one I can think of from MAG. I'm making huge generalisations and Contras not terrible at FPS. He's certainly not a scary opponent though in a 1v1. I can't wait to see him pull some "start+r3" shenanigans. He's certainly got a working knowledge of FPS play and strategy.
No, I'll be listening and talking to whoever takes control of things on the ground. Just like MAG. Useless platoon leader means it's down to the squad leaders to sort things. Same as MAG. Strategy > Tactics > chump in an MCC making bad calls, because he can't read the situation. Need MAG comms now please. |

If there's a battlefield commander, he'll probably be in charge of things like placing installations, so you'd need to coordinate with him. Remember that when there's corps if your commander isn't any good, you can find another corp.
Armored Core 5 has a Operator role that looks at a area map and places markers and can scan areas and coordinates the battle. A good one can make a huge difference. Hopefully in DUST it'll be somewhat like that.
Also, stop trying to turn this game into MAG. I played it, it was fun for a while, but this is another beast entirely. |

AC5 was great fun, but AC4A is in my opinion the best mech game of all time.
Regarding MAG comms, the reason I specifically want those is that they were simple and effective. I'm not saying lose what we have, but it's quicker than saying allow commander to talk to Everyone, SL only, and his squad (not sure how that'll work). SL get same options as mag too. ADDING this functionality will be an improvement on what we have now. |

My ideal chat config would be squad leaders can talk in team or squad, squad members can only talk in squad. No team leader. You can check a box to hear both or just squad if unchecked.
Any comments? |

Squad leaders can create there own chat channel then use the universal chat implant and jump Chanel's in game! Before that happens though we need to be able to form teams or bigger squads because right now this 4 player setup is crippling the organized Corps! |

It'd hopefully be an easy improvement Galacticus. Very simple, quite effective. I'd be happy with that. Gives the same effect as MAG comms without a platoon leader. He was annoying anyway 9/10 :D +1 on a simple solution.
I'll copy and paste that to the feedback thread about it. |

Not saying duplicate MAG comms, but I absolutely loved all their options. Especially the additional options for the leadership rolls - squad chat, platoon chat, platoon broadcast, squad leader chat, platoon leader chat, company broadcast. |
