No sure with some of the networking issues going around if anyone has said this or not, but good on you CCP for a quick turn around on fixing the nova knife and melee. It went from unusable last build to me adveraging almost one kill per match from the thing. Much apreciated!^^ |

Yeah. It seems to attack in an arc in front of you now instead of only hitting where your reticle is. I may actually have to drop some SP into it this time.
I'm also enjoying how not completely useless snipers are this build, and I recently discovered the joys of being a Breach Shotgun/SMG scout (on certain, very specific maps).
Choosing a specialization is going to be difficult this build. |

While I never try to kill with the knife, I've found as a weapon of last resort, it's improved deliciously!
Run out of ammo on Primary weapon? too risky to reload... go to secondary... run out of ammo on secondary?!?! to risky to reload!... go to knife... get the kill :D
I don't know if I was playing poorly that time, or if the other guy was just that good. But when you get up on their faceplate with the knife and have to wipe their milk-blood off your visor, it's so very satisfying...

I was wondering if it got upgraded since I got killed a couple times by them.. Guess I'll have to start using them and not just completely ignore having it with me. |

I was in that exact situation recently, ending with a "Holy cow, that worked!" I the proceeded to get two more kills with the knife that round, just for "testing." |

just curious, how would people feel about the knife bypassing shields? or having a module that lets the knife have a stun effect? |

I really don't advise skilling for the knife now hit detection is improved. As Leo said, as a last ditch weapon, it beats trying to bite them. But 135 damage isn't much. I think it seems very effective because of all the militia suits. It does some pretty big damage though with 3*50% mods and a million SP. This is not the build to try it though. Risk vs Reward... |

If we want to go with a knife bypassing shields or adding effects to the knife...
I'd rather have a 'side-arm' quality knife that you have to equip to that works like a CQC manuver. Grabs the opponent, throws them to the ground and drives the blade through their throat or whatever. It will be a 1-hit KO but leaves them bleeding out so if the attacker leaves and a logi shows up, they can be saved.. Just make it so the attack takes a little while, has some struggle and allies to the unfortunate target have a chance to kill the attacker. 4-6 seconds of a close-combat struggle sounds like long enough for back-up to kill the knife-user.
Make it so it's the Lone-Wolf Killer and encourages squading up. |

Anti shield, anti armour, stun, or "bleed damage" that causes their amour to continue to drain slowly for short time even if they escape. Or, have all four be higher level knife skills that need to be trained over time forcing newer players to make a hard choice as which path to build up first^^ |
