ohai mercs,
i am currently considering to get myself a new bluetooth keyboard, so i have one free USB port for my headset on the PS3, can you guys recommend something ?
i am not looking for a super fancy logitech 17 programable extra buttons thing, but for a keyboard with a great keystroke feeling, nothing soft but a noticable "click" |

I have the Logitech MX5500 keyboard and mouse combo which is compatible with the PS3. It does the job reasonably well but I prefer to hook up a wired keyboard and mouse; I'm fighting lag most of the time and don't want to add any peripheral delays to the mix. That said I've never noticed any delay using the bluetooth combo. |

I believe you can buy a USB hub so you can add more USB devices to the PS3 thus not needing to obtain a bluetooth due to insufficient slots.

i "need" a second keyboard to work my eve and dust client simultaneously without interruption :)
the MX 5500 looks promising, i need to find out how to charge the keyboard, my brother has an old wireless that runs only on batteries, i dont want something like this, i need a way to load it while playing without interruption of more than 3 seconds, internet spaceships is serious business
i could try to use a hub, but i dont really want to, already enough cables coming from the playstation side of my desk |

atm i'm using 2x kb x2 mouse and the crappy monitor sound for dust. i need a bigger desk.
edit: i hope sony are taking notice for the next console release. looks like they might be as they have already started to release kb and stuff and only since dust has been on the horizon. |

The MX 5500 mouse charges on a dock, and as a result cannot be used while charging. The keyboard takes batteries, but I rarely need to change them as it only has to transmit when using buttons (which I guess is more frequently in games). |

I bought PS3 USB expansion thingy. Total of 4 USB ports (Headset, PS Eye, Hub + KB/M, free for charging)
and for KBM I use generic 5$ USB hub. also is possible to have keyboard with USB hub (Microsoft Internet Keyboard Pro) and connects your mouse through it. Needing then only one USB port if not connected through generic USB hub.
Nevertheless I am reading this thread to decide about best KB/M combo.
If one can configure buttons on PC which are then permanent (used on PS3), could one bind custom buttons to like Button 4 = Enter?
If so, which mouse is known to allow this? |

Yes. Game-On then! lol I am good with mouse/keyboard but suck with PS3 controllers in FPS. This is a god-send! be aware this is beta and lots of players have had completely different experiences with it. but by release it should be smooth as buter.
I'm better with the controler, but I keep my mouse plugged in for sniping. :P |

For anyone considering a usb hub be sure to get one that's powered and make sure it has an AC power adapter, not the dual usb powered kind. I have one made by GigaWare and it's worked well so far.
