MSN will debut their new Xbox soon (like till spring).
and Sony will likely follow.
What happens to Dust then, since the consoles will be fairly different.....

CCP implied when they first announced Dust that it would be cross platform, but later it became a PS3 exclusive. This was more likely a business decision (Microsoft not budging on their title update policy perhaps) than a technical decision and therefore I would hope the game has been written to be portable to new platforms. After all, most modern console games are cross platform and the Unreal engine certainly is.
How long the PS3 is supported would then probably depend on player numbers and whether PS4 only features can degrade nicely... |

well i wont be getting a ps4 until they change the flawed design lol after my fat got YLOD i dont trust new systems and all my data was lost thanks to no memory cards (i hate them) so even if/when we do switch i want to still be able to play it on ps3 |

I'd wager it will be ported to the PS4 after it comes out, and the PC before then. The only reason they didn't release on the XBOX was because microsoft wouldn't let CCP connect dust to tranquility making it pointless. |

They went with PS3 exclusive because microsoft didn't like the idea of how much freedom CCP would have over the game. In the end I think that'll help take it to PS4 pretty easily as the whole game is built for Playstation. Plus as it is all download only they should be able to get it on PS4 pretty easily I think. I have faith in their ability. |

Dust will be on both 3 and 4 and the Vita will have the Neocom. I would think that they would be developing this game for the PS4, the PS3 is at its end and CCP would have games on PC and 3 sony products. That is a lot of houses to be in. |

PS4 and new failbox wont be hitting the stores until at least 2014 and prob around Christmas time. Maybe even later than that so no real worries there. I do think CCP plan to port to the PS4 when it comes along but not entirely sure.

Easy. Buy ps4, download client, input details, start from where you left off on ps3. It won't need to be 'ported'....it will be a straight client download.
I'm sure they created dust with a ps4 client transfer in mind. |

yeah an statement from sony that it is planned for end of next year is a "rumor" ... good joke  it will probably delay as usual but it is not a rumor any more for several months now. |

Only one I can find comes with an official retraction from Sony and wasn't an "official statement" but an off-the-record comment that got published without permission and without verification.
If you're looking at something different, would be nice to know. |

If the PS4 is out before 2014 I will "eat my hat" the PS3 still has a lot to give and money to make for Sony. |

hopefully they will add new stuff for ps4 because i dont know if people will stay interested in dust that long (after all they do come out with new cods and battlefeilds every year) |
