the game seems to complicated to play plus when you start you always have to start in default droping area youcant change to something different. and the button thatsays to chat does not work the chat thing is weird. i really dont know about this game yet. |

i know how to play mmorpg games but this one seems a little more difficult then what im used to. |

Sounds like you've been put into Ambush games so far. They have random spawn points unless your team sets a Drop Uplink.
As for the chat problem, if we could get some more information we may be able to help.

thanks. The chat problem is that when i press the button it says to it didnt seem to do anythiung really.
or maybe i just dont understand how how the feature works.
ps. i didnt understand what that mmorpg drawing was supose to be about |

Are you refering to voice chat? The problem may be that no one has their mic on. Happens a lot. I"ll probably be playing later on this morning (right now it's 4:10am in my area). If you would like I can try to get you into a squad with players that use mics. |

Dust is in the same world as EVE, and EVE is famous for having a learning cliff, not a learning curve. Dust will follow the same principles it looks like, just not as extreme as EVE. But one thing is certain, this isn't a game where you just press "Join game" without giving your fittings a few thoughts first. |

Dropsuit, yes. You can actually run out of guns in this game, so you need to pay attention to that. And there are skills affecting these passively and actively through modules... yeah, a newbie to this game can get information overload... |

Please go to the market , to militia , and then buy militia drop uplinks. Now when you get unto a fight on the dumb ambush maps you drop one down when you spawn and you can now choose your spawn point. Plus your team uses it gives you sp and isk ! |

Text chat is also available. I'll add you to my contacts. Do you have a mic? It simplifies things on the battlefield, plus I could talk you through some of the more complicated parts of the game.

Basically, EVE is the thinking man's MMORPG -- it is complicated intentionally, and makes games like WoW look like child's play (though, despite what many EVE players like to say, a nice simple fun game that doesn't require too much thinking does have its place). DUST will be EVE's equivalent in the shooter world. Complexity is intentional. |

I feel bad you'll never enjoy Dust 514 as much as we do.

I'd say read the manual, but I've told people that a couple of times only to have them come back and say, "Yeah, that didn't really help," and goddammit they're right. CCP is horrible at making their games comprehensible to anyone who is not willing to go through extensive trial and error, and they get lauded for it because it makes those who do go through it feel like they're "hardcore" and "intelligent."
Is DUST more complicated than other shooters?
Yes.
Does it come off as being ten times more complicated than it really is?
Yes, because the tutorials, UI, and even gameplay obfuscate everything behind indecipherable spreadsheets and jargon. DUST could easily be twice or three times as complicated as it is right now, but with better tutorials and UI it would still be palatable to most people.
Anyways, I recommend reading this thread to get a slightly better bearing on the game. Also, count yourself lucky, there was a character reset recently and most people are still running around in gear that doesn't give them too great an advantage over you. |
