The idea is simple. Using the same idea as squad rally commands, any player could mark on the map a 'pickup zone' which would be visible to anyone on their team currently driving a vehicle. Marking the player themself is a less ideal call as they could want to mark an area that would be clear, or safer than where they currently are.
Passengers inside the vehicle could then have the ability to use their map or weapon wheel to designate a dropoff zone where they would like the driver to take them. Gunners could mark a target zone so that the pilot/driver knows where the gunner wants to be shooting.
Pilots/drivers could get the option to notify their passengers to get out at a certain location, maybe notifying them they should be hacking an objective they are parked beside instead of farming kills of people who spawn. (*wink*) While on this subject, the ability for a pilot/driver to forcibly eject their passengers is a must-have.
All of these actions could give some measure of war points, and would be particularily nice incentives for dropship pilots. |

I like the idea, but it seems like there's a lot of potential for abuse. There does need to be some incentive to run a soldier transport, I'll agree with you there. I just have no idea how you'd make it work without the ability to abuse it.
For starters, there would have to be a minimum distance between pick-up and drop-off points, the drop-off point would have to be some kind of objective, and you'd have to be within a certain range to drop off. I'm not sure that would solve the problem, but it would be a start. |

I don't think it would help much. But by all means, go for it. The reason I say this is because in all the games I played no-one is a team player. War Points probably isn't a big enough incentive. |

Attack/defend/vehicle markers would be great for those of us who are team players. A simple map icon could be used for players requesting a pickup, similar to BF3's. |

I like the idea. There are some times when I'm not sure what my driver is trying to attack, and other times when I want to eject the idiot who won't stop firing at nothing. |

I agree having some sort or marker on radar would be very helpful so that way we can see what the driver is aiming at and firing upon so we can all work as one unit |

Sounds like a smart idea, till everyone makes different target locations for pick up and dropoff.
Idk how well this would be for helping keep clutter off the screen.

I agree rolyat it would be mass clutter on the screen but I was thinking that is could be linked into the Mini radar |

These are already implemented. Not the pickup and transport stuff but the Attack Defend options are there for the squad leader. |

That's...actually an interesting Idea. Especially if warpoints are awarded for it, although there's serious potential for abuse there.
If some squad leader sees me flying around and thinks "I'd like to jump into objective A from the air, and he can take me there" then he sets up a "transport request" to objective A. I get an indicator of where he is and where he wants to go. I can then fly there, pick them up, and fly them to objective A where they jump out and surprise all the bad guys nearby. Presumably the pilot would them get warpoints either
1) When they arrive near the requested area, say 25 points per person who arrives or 2) When they capture/destroy/whatever the objective.
It would allow the dropship to fulfill the role it's designed for: troop transport. |
