Inter Stellar Kredits.
Form of currency used between all planetary governments and empires its value is much higher than most people account for.
For example 500 isk will buy you the best hover luxury car known in the gallente federation. 12,000 will retire an entire family from the hard life. Which is why so many people try to serve on a capsuleer ship even though thats considered suicide, the life insurance payout is enough to put somone at ease.
So the next time you shove together your 250,000 isk prototype suit just think of all the kittens it could have fed. |

Is this really accurate? How the kitten does that scale? What does a sack of potatoes(or whatever spacey alternative they have) cost, 0.001 ISK?

plantary governments typically have thier own localized currencies and exchange rates though, you wouldnt use isk to buy a sack of potatos, you use isk to buy a truck of potatos. |

^ This as well, the average human in new eden goes car shopping, the average capsuleer goes battleship shopping. |

I once calculated the relative value of the ISK compared to the euro based on Energy Cost. I used the prize of station fuel which is needed to create a certain value of kWh or MJ (don't know anymore) and calculated how much the kWh costs in our currency. Was something around 1isk is 1000Gé¼. |

The highest-of-high-end vehicles (equivalent to multi-million dollar luxury cars) are only 500 ISK. Several million divided by 100 is still more than a well-laden truck of potatoes would cost anywhere in the world. |
