I thought it was going to be eventually, I remember hearing that somewhere, but could be mistaken. |

This +1. I want to see half of one side get paid off to defect and be able to shoot their own teammates. |

I foresee a time where anyone in Militia gear is looked upon with suspicion.
I say we keep in off in highsec, otherwise the game will devolve into griefer madness. |

I hope friendly fire is NEVER implemented. It would be a disaster, as it would constantly be abused and every game would feel like COD FFA mode.
Don't do this. |

I made a thread where I asked which is more important. Fixin grouping or adding Friendly Fire. Everyone agreed grouping. I look forward to friendly fire. Yes it will be abused. But that's just another good reason to group with regular players. The 16 man blobs in ambush won't be so effective when they all kill the front row of infantry...
MAG'sfriendly fire was abused, but also really made the game better. Look at Halo. Most fun in the campaign is bashin your mate in the back and watching him face plant (never fails to bring the lols). |

Why can't we have both?
Dust can offer "no friendly fire" in high security (like in Eve) and offer "friendly fire" in low and null sec (again, like in Eve). Also, even in Eve, corp members are always allowed to shoot each other no matter where they are - not sure how this would work in Dust. |

It couldn't be implemented in a lowsec hisec way, as it breaks immersion. Perhaps some other mechanic, though...
Friendly fire is something that rewards tactics, including metagame tactics. Given the nature of FPS, I doubt you'd see people opting to play an alt in order to grief when they could be doing something meaningful.
As to griefing... Have you played Eve? That's a stronger argument for it than against. Griefing is something that pushes people together, and for this game to succeed, community has to be its strongest feature. |

Don't do this. Friendly fire makes for some epic drama that can have serious consequences. In mag it could lead to having permanent enemies that would try and kill you every time they see you. There would be huge clan rivalries within some pmcs.
Trust me, the eve players will love it. |

Yes to friendly fire. Would cut down on the spray and pray blobs. If you get an assist on a friendly kill you loose one of your kills and the friendly doesn't count.. If you get credited with the kill then you lose 3 of your kills and the friendly doesn't count.
You would actually have to have some skill when working with a squad or team. |
